With the Government about to

put a two week quarantine period on anybody flying into the country, how will that impact football? It will more or less kill off any hope of British Involvement in European Competitions, if opposition teams having to go into quarantine for 14 days. Not that I expect those competitions to continue. Surely they should all have been abandoned a while back.

Germany seem to be the odd country out, starting football next week, whilst Britain is further hardening its lockdown measures. The quarantining of air passengers has come about two months to late, that is pretty well par for the course though for this Government, always behind what is actually happening.

Also, I know yesterday was VE Day, but I felt very uncomfortable seeing the bunting going up and street parties going on, as if nothing was actually happening in the country. Whilst another 500 plus were dying, people were making merry. Sorry, but all celebrations, however well meaning should have been put on hold. I have to say I thought it was in very bad taste to be celebrating, when there is a major crisis going on in our hospitals and care homes. Yesterday, and not for a very long time to come is not going to be the time to party.

Testing / Anti-Body Testing should be at the forefront and should have been all along. Not wasting time on some stupid iphone apps etc

You can do both at the same time.

Tbh it’s pathetic this app thing has taken as long as it has, really pathetic.

Did your grandad fight in the First Workd War?

After mine came out he pretty much lost any faith in politicians, and was pretty devastated but unsurprised when the Second World War broke out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Both mine did mate, I have some decent army pics of one Grandad, he survived the war, but died of cancer at only 54 in the 1930s, so I never knew him as such. My other Grandad died 1956, so I knew him as a young lad.

The Government better bail out the airlines since they’re about to screw them over

I was reading about the Vietnam war the other day and had absolutely no idea it originally involved the French and just went on and on and on and then there was Korea too and behind all that was just America and a couple of Allies vs Russia and China.

They had a couple of world wars and then started fighting with other peoples soldiers instead basically.

The amount of war in the past 120 years and the numbers involved is mind boggling.

Ken Burns and Lynn Novick documentaries have been compulsive viewing for me, probably the most senseless war ever.

I think this a deliberate ploy by the Government. It is not about those coming in, it will be about Brits going on holiday to places like Turkey, Greece, etc. Saying you have to quarantine for two weeks when coming back, more or less knocks foreign holidays on the head. The economy will be on the floor, so I think they don`t want people spending abroad, they want them spending at home. It`s typical of this Government really, all money driven.

Just saw this;

Stay home. It's not difficult.

17 million in England managed to do it when you were asked to vote last December.

Very good point sandy. I hadn't considered that to be honest.

To be fair that is actually some logical thinking from the government for once.
