Behind closed doors till 2021

In a recent interview on the impacts the corona virus is having on transfer activity, Klopp mentioned that finances will be hit by :

- Refunds on parts of season tickets for this year.
- No sale of season tickets for next year, or a minimum of at least 10-15 games less.
- As well as TV revenue needing to be refunded and diminished for next year

It is the second point to focus on, we are going to see behind closed doors games continue until 2021.

There’s been plenty said about behind closed doors games, however given the choice of football but behind closed doors or, no footy at all, every football fan would opt for behind closed doors.

Guess we will have to get used to it, look forward to the ingenuity the footballing decision makers put in place to generate a crowd atmosphere.

There are certain teams that feed off the crowd more than others, certainly in the case of Liverpool this is true... right the way through the team and to Klopp.. while this season is done and dusted for us, can’t help but think this will be a negative.

Will be good to see how refs manage the games without pressure from the crowd too.

Crowds are gathering on the beach, protests and pubs will be open soon. Only a matter of time when fans will be allowed back in phases.

Surely with all seater stadiums the 2m rule can be relatively easily respected. Maybe let 10k into a 60k stadium and everybody sits 3 seats apart?

Somethings got to be better than nothing.

I’m surprised this isn’t talked about more but also understand that football has to come back before we tart thinking about fans. Still, kinda surprised something like this hasn’t started to be looked at in Germany where the restart has been succesfulnso far.

As DJ said all the fans travelling to and from the stadium does technically create an issue (crowding public transport). I think there’s also an issue that when you place fans high up in the stands even when there’s empty seats it’ll be hard to regulate fans just moving closer to the pitch. Hungarian football tried this and had this issue.

But on the overall subject I actually think social distancing and even large crowds will be back before the calendar year is over.

surely at some point things will just have to return to normal, what if it hangs about for a decade?

the reality is the government will push as far as possible as fast as possible to take in tax and not pay people to stay home. based on testing system and tracing in the absence of a vaccine.

however it's also clear that events in the past 2 weeks in us and here and in some other areas will have an impact on infection rates. we will see before the football starts.

if we all bury our heads like the Brazilian and us president and stoke something up like brexit to distract the press people will forget about covid.

I can assure anyone if a 10% crowd was let in half of them would try to congregate together and ignore the distancing to make a singing group.

once you let in anyone you then need steward sand away crowds.

Eh? No way!

You think people will just jump up and down on their own and not gravitate toward one another? Won’t happen. Only those who have been tested continuously will be able to step into stadiums.

There’s no way they will allow any surfaces to become compromised.

mass gathering are a level 1 or level 2 activity.

pubs will be thrown open imo in late july but schools will come before football crowds. schools dictate ability to go to work for parents so the government want that asap.
