I wish Churchill was here now.

It's gone from protesting for a cause for the right reasons to a complete farce. All of the band wagon jumpers, social justice warriors, bored trouble makers and anyone trying to dig up history on other people to shame them into an apology. A total farce.

I lost all sympathy when Churchill's statue was defaced. Where are the brave protesters answering to that, trying to justify it. Sc um. Now cops are being filmed getting beaten up in the streets, band wagon protesters seemingly want every historical statue torn down incase it offends someone. Most of them probably don't even care. They just want come across as nice people instead of the irritants they actually are.

People kneeling in the streets, being asked to kneel!

The useless crime loving Mayor of London wanting a diversity expert unleashed on the country asap.

Exactly who is this expert?
How are they an expert at diversity?
Is it something they learned and gained a degree in?

Or just another total melt given a made up career.

No sympathy here anymore.

Just another reminder of how weak our government is.

Churchill?

Even the likes of Priti Patel & Co wouldn't have a place in Churchill's Britain.

Historical context.

If Churchill was alive today, he might have changed his mind.

What do you think of Patel giving her experience if racism, only to be accused of gaslighting by Bame Labour mps?

Do some black lives not matter if they are conservative, for example?

No one counts she’s suffered some racial abuse in her life and I have every sympathy for her. But her words would mean more if she wasn’t working for a government who don’t really seem to give a crap about minorities. She’s even said her own immigration policy would have meant her own parents wouldn’t have been allowed into the country.

If you're calling him crime loving, when police funding and a whole load of contributing factors are controlled by the government then yeah it looks a bit suspect

Keep calm. Keep calm.

So a lot of people decide to demonstrate, as responsibly as they could in these Covid times, about a great injustice, both in America, and in a wider sense elsewhere, including here. And get a lot of support. That's good, although because of Covid I think they need to start thinking of drawing a line.

Then some extremists (on both sides) try to hijack the demonstrations. Predictable; it's what extremists try to do. The farce of drunken thugs turning up to "protect Churchill's statue" then assaulting the police shows how ridiculous they are.

Equally a farce is the "pull down statues" movement. Statues commemorate what somebody did, not what they were; few leaders are to be admired for what they were rather than what they did. Churchill saved the country from an evil totalitarian fate, worthy of commemoration. The 1945 General Election is a useful example. Churchill toured the country and was widely applauded. The same people then voted and Labour won by a landslide. They appreciated Churchill the wartime leader. They didn't want him as a peacetime prime minister. They knew the difference. Same applies today.

Don't get upset by the hooligans out for a bit of publicity. Just ignore them, and when necessary let the police deal with them.
