Anyone else getting a fresh sense of

annoyance or resentment towards the Spurs board since Liverpool officially picked up their first PL?

Once again the feeling that we were in their shoes or even ahead of them a few years back comes to the fore, and they've shown us and our bald fraud of a chairman how to take it to the next step.

Meanwhile we've gone backwards, and what's worse is it looks like some of the other chasing pack, or teams who have recently been in the same boat as us, could be the ones to become the next Liverpool and mount serious challenges for the title - Man United, Chelsea, who knows...possibly even Wolves.

As for us? Maybe the new Arsenal.

In the 16/17 side we needed that one leader who knows how to win. In 15/16 and 16/17 we pipped both times by sides without any Europe, that's just an excuse though and I doubt say if we had no Europe next season we would have any more chance of winning anything

I don’t think we will ever see in our lifetimes Spurs get to a CL final unfortunately. That 1 time was our best chance ever and true Spurs style, we messed that up in the 1st minute. Only Spurs could concede a penalty in the 1st minute of a CL final. We are just serial chokers, so sick and tired of it.

Our problem is we don`t have referees and VAR helping us out in key moments like certain other clubs do, we are routinely shafted by the officials and have been for years, and the statistics also back this up.

Just look at the all time penalty stats for example, and the last time Spurs were given a penalty against Man Utd was new years day 1991! Bias from the officials makes a huge difference when it comes to accumulating points, it also helps build confidence, momentum and a general good feeling.

Even when we were flying the year Leicester won the league, every little decision went Leicester`s way once the media campaign took off, they were given a staggering amount of penalties, most of them for Vardy and Mahrez dives, Spurs on the other hand, were given fack all apart from a desire throughout the media to see Leicester win it.

But on the other hand you had two in one game at Anfield a couple of years ago, neither of which should have been given. Swings and roundabouts.

Except they were both nailed on penalty kicks, the Pool fans are so used to seeing fack all given to the opposition, they were outraged that we had a unbiased referee in charge for once.

Nope, neither were penalties. So stop your facking moaning

The pinnacle was last season for the CL final. Win that and it’s all justified and the plan worked to perfection. Problem is that not one of our so called big players showed up. Not one single caaant showed up and we rolled over from minute one. Facking shambles and now it’s back to square one.

Absolutely no winning mentality whatsoever in this club.

You could say that about any club though. Even City would struggle if they lost Aguero, De Bruyne and Laporte for 15+ games.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
odd thing to say, given that laporte has missed over 20 games this season, and aguero will end up missing 14. de bruyne missed half of last season of course.

in fact, aguero will end up missing more games through injury this season than your entire front 3 plus robertson/TAA/VVD combined, barring some odd happenings over the next month.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah and they've kind of struggled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes. but why talk of hypotheticals when this has actually happened? why "even city would struggle" and not "city have struggled".

and the spurs fan's point was that most clubs don't have to deal with hypotheticals, because they actually do miss major players for large chunks of the season. look at chelsea with kante, rudiger, RLC, hudson odoi. united with pogba, martial and rashford. kane and son have both missed over 1/4 of the season.

the point is you're the only big team where we have to ask "i wonder what would happen if they missed some big players for 2 months", rather than just saying "see how they struggled when they missed some big players for 2 months".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My point was whilst yes, our injury record is better than most, you're very unlikely to be in a situation where all 3 star players are out injured for the same 15 games. That's not being lucky, it would be extremely unlucky for that to happen. United for example haven't missed all 3 of Pogba, Rashford and Martial for the same 2 months, 1 of them has always been available and usually at least 2 have.

And for the record, Alisson and Fabinho have both been injured for 10+ games this season, and any Liverpool fan would 100% consider them big and important players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs have had their two best strikers out for a similar number.

Yup our mentality from manager to players was weak, serial bottlers. Hopefully with a manager that knows how to win, over the next couple of years that mentality changes.
