I can't remember a United signing

Making a big impact like Bruno Fernandes has done over the last 6 months, You could add Eric Cantona or Robin Van Persie.

I'd argue that Cantona is second only to Ferguson in putting down the foundations of the success we had from the 90s onward. In purely footballing terms obviously, we obviously relied on quality throughout the team and I'm sure Fergie would have won the title eventually without Cantona. But Cantona was the jigsaw piece that brought the swagger and confidence to a slightly brittle side. He was the one who gave a fairytale dimension to that side, a personality. He cemented the culture change.

I still remember the day we won the title in 99, against Spurs. When the whistle blew, I wasn't thinking about the two upcoming finals that could lead to a treble; I was thinking "We've won the league without Cantona!" We hadn't managed to do it previously under Ferguson and he'd seemed pivotal to domestic success.

Clockwork, I can relate to that.

From what I've read, Cantona had a huge impact on the development and mentality of the Fledglings. They took their cues from him in terms of determination on the pitch and understanding how dedicated you had to be in training. So in some ways Cantona made a huge contribution to the success of the next great United side.

In answer to the OP. Ibra and RVP

Ibra’s time here was well overrated. We finished 6th.

Bruno has been our best signing since RVP.

Don’t forget just how good RVP was for us that season. Scored so many crucial goals. No chance we won number 20 without him.

That free-kick at the Etihad summed it up for me. Against the team he might have joined, we'd surrendered a two-goal lead and he stepped up and produced that (I now it deflected). As I remember, the win took us six points clear of City in December and I didn't really doubt we'd win the league after that. The hat-trick to clinch the title was the icing on the cake.

Bruno is the perfect attacking mid for Mourinho. He flogged Mata because he wasn’t a workhorse in favour of Oscar. Bruno’s what Oscar would have been if he had Mata’s football ability.

Prime Mourinho would've got him before us in my opinion ( When he was Chelsea manager in 2004 ).

Prime Mourinho wouldn’t be managing Tottenham.
