so I have a question as it pertains to the title.
Liverpool were European Champions in the 18/19 season. They won the world club tournament in this season for their exploits in 18/19. They are mathematically guaranteed to win the premier league in 19/20.
my understanding is they will not become the PL champions until the competition concludes, they're currently designated as champions elect, thats why they haven't been given the trophy.
if covid was to rear its ugly head again and the season be abandoned there is still risk it could be null and voided, won't happen, but a risk, they haven't actually been 'crowned' champions yet.
at the same time they have also been kicked out of Europe by Atletico so when they get their PL trophy they will also lose their European crown and with it any chance of defending their WCC title too.
so despite what some of their posters have in their usernames they are not really the English European and world champions are they?
Because including this seasons PL win means they accept they have been dethroned as European champions.
has any English team ever held all 3 properly?
one final note, if your club went from being super duper European and world champions to just the lowly English champions...is that a forward step? asking for a friend....
