Mr Johnson told reporters: "I cannot believe... that the BBC is saying that they will not sing the words of Land Of Hope And Glory or Rule Britannia! as they traditionally do at the end of The Last Night of The Proms.
"I think it's time we stopped our cringing embarrassment about our history, about our traditions, and about our culture, and we stopped this general fight of self-recrimination and wetness.

I agree with the sentiment. But with everything going on why is the PM commenting on this?
Pandering to the masses that will eat this up. Get him to feck.

A PM using something to appeal to the populace.

Absolute silence (or nothing to see here) on many the recent critical issues facing the country.
But when it comes to a few LNOTP songs being altered due to cv19, he's front and centre.
Politics of distraction. Another dead cat. Which to his credit, he's built a career out of.

Not only that but the BBC have been clear on the reasons and they are perfectly reasonable within the current restrictions. They also made it clear that they plan to reintroduce the singing next year.
Frankly I'm amazed that the event is even going ahead or that there would be anyone there to sing anything.
He's an absolute clown and his interjection here contributes nothing of any value.
'Wetness' ffs.

Mills, mines, factories and political suppression were all made available to the working classes due to foreign plunder. As soon as I get my share of the utter millions in profits made I'll begin my remorse. So, your on your own Boris as I'll not apologise on your behalf for defending our pirate nation.
