travel a lot for work and leisure and have seen many things but I have also seen how we Brits behave abroad, Maguire and his friends were drunk and Maguire was behaving in an "entitled" way.

.....

Shut up you imbecile. The only evidence we have seen is that he was behaving like any other drunk lout on holiday in Greece.

You see exactly the same behavior on any given night in pubs in England.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
some people have visualised scenarios where he is "literally" throwing money at the police, presumably whilst giving them a good lashing with his cane and adjusting his monocle.

As MU52 said yesterday, it is amazing how footballers being young and rich seems to rile so many people on here, "disgusting", "obscene salaries" etc etc

I've read a lot about the "corrupt" Greeks. I find it racist that we assume that those foreigners don't do things "like we do" or "how they should be done".

I travel a lot for work and leisure and have seen many things but I have also seen how we Brits behave abroad, Maguire and his friends were drunk and Maguire was behaving in an "entitled" way. He has and should have no more power or privilege than any of us. All the accusations being levelled at the Greek police are after thoughts - petty arguments to try and divert people from the truth. He got drunk - violent - and tried to buy his way out of trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Drunk, violent, and buying yourself out of trouble. That’s the United way isn’t it? At least at City we are savvy enough just to do the latter 😂

Exactly. But maybe abroad, this behaviour is not accepted. You've made my point!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

It is nothing to do with being privileged or entitled though. Which was your point because you keep bringing it up.

Yes, I believe that. But I also believe that many Brits think we are the kings of "democracy", the "truth" and the "right way" of doing things. The reality is that when you leave our little island, you find the rest of the world do it differently. Are we really right and the rest of the world wrong? Your answer will say more about you than me. I am more inclined to believe the Greeks than Maguire.

......

I don’t know the full facts so are not inclined to believe either party.

That should tell you more about yourself than me.

The 'facts' are that he has been found guilty of numerous things. Whoever you 'believe ' is up to you, but it doesn't change the facts.

Most countries do things differently. The rest of the world isn't in agreement with the UK being the exception. So no-one is right or wrong. Just different.

Why would you believe the second most corrupt police force in the EU over Maguire?

two things.

If you don't think that people from different countries and cultures around the world 'do things' differently, then you need to get out more. Seriously

Secondly nobody whatsoever has said that the Greeks don't do things 'way they should be done' (Except Angela Merkel possibly). I am suggesting that Greeks do things 'The Greek way', when in Greece.

On the whole.

Will this warrant an FA charge for misconduct and subsequent lengthy ban?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It should, and if it happens, and is accompanied by a lsubstantial fine, then perhaps the Greek legal process will feel vindicated and will drop any jail time request?
