Barnsley V Forest EFL Cup

Barnsley Manager on their new signing:

Barnsley have signed LASK midfielder Dominik Frieser for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old was part of the LASK side that reached the last 16 of the 2019-20 Europa League before being knocked out by Manchester United.

"Dominik has achieved great things in Austria and in Europe," boss Gerhard Struber stated.

arnsley left-back Ben Williams is facing an extended period out of action after suffering a serious knee injury.

For the Reds the usual suspects are injured, Lolley is carrying a knock, Sow likewise and Silva is definitely out.
After take your pick:
"Joe Lolley has been training with us and after that it will just be my decision. Jack Colback is fit to start because he has impressed me and he has impressed everybody from the beginning, like Luke Freeman, like Lyle Taylor, they have increased the level and the intensity and the quality of training."

Hopefully no more players are going to leave and the squad can settle.

Absolute garbage, created absolutely nothing, Grabban totally isolated, when he was on, seem to remember saying that before. NO creativity in midfield, can’t think of their keeper making a save, pretty much the same as last visit to Oakwell. It’s going to be a very long, and probably frustrating season.

One more thing, cue the same lame excuses from SL, I predict he will not be here come Xmas.

This was not a pre season game; it was a cup tie! The attitude was all wrong.

Gabriel, Blackett, Bachirou, Carvalho should not start next week. Darikwa, Worrall, Colback, and Freeman take their places. Lolly to start if fully fit. Taylor to start alongside Grabban.

Need to improve attitude and fitness.

He won’t if we play any more games like that.

Colback hasn’t played a ‘competitive’ 90 mins for about 18 months, was today not an ideal time to play him ? Last season we played for a draw at Oakwell, and it nearly worked. Today was a cup match, surely we should have at least tried to win, at NO point today did we seriously threaten to score, don’t forget Barnsley are likely to be relegation fodder again, doesn’t say much for our chances under Sabri. The guy does not appear to have learned anything, just a continuation of the last games last season. We have some very good players and a half decent squad, therefore you have to ask, what is wrong ??
