Goodbye, goodluck and thanks for the last decade Emi.
Welcome Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson.
What do we know about the Dijon #2?
He is 25 years old and 1.86m tall.
He used to be coached by Inaki Cana Pavon, our goalkeeping coach, at Nordsjaelland.
He is very cheap.
He has 5 caps for Iceland - the last of which came in 2018 - none in competitive fixtures.
He has conceded 180 goals in 107 games for Nordsjaelland and Dijon.
He appeared 11 times (9 starts) in Ligue 1 last season - being on the winning side once.
He conceded 26 goals in 12 starts and 2 sub appearances (all comps)
He is, of course, classed as non-homegrown. Taking our quota to 19 - 2 over the PL limit of 17.
What a signing

More than likely garbage. But cheap. If Leno gets injured we are in trouble

Based on absolutely nothing apart from your own incessant negativity

There are lots of things he has based it on.

Such as?

See the OP.
Literally the only glimmer of light is the fact Inaki Pavon worked with him a good few years ago. Although that can be seen as a negative as well. Nothing else positive to say about this move.

Also called Arsene Wenger a 'French f*ck' on twitter apparently.

Hopefully he’s not a complete calamity, but don’t want us spending too much on a back up keeper anyway. I expect he’ll only play some early Europa games and league cup games at most if Leno stays fit, which will probably be fine. Worry would be if Leno is injured again we could be in trouble. The club really must not rate Macey and the younger keepers much To be signing this guy. It’s a shame because it’s a great opportunity for a young keeper to get game time
Hopefully it’ll be a short contract so if he’s crap we won’t be stuck with him too long

Good to see he is passionate about the club.

I've just read about this. I didn't know he was a gooner.
This changes everything. I take everything I've said about him back.
Welcome to Arsenal Runar Alex Runarsson.

Selling Emi and replacing him with a scrub? 🤔

Reports are it’s a 5 year deal for him! Guess we will be stuck with him if he flops! Guessing he’ll be on pretty low wages at least though. But I hope he surprises us, won’t judge him until he’s given a fair chance

It's when Leno gets injured not if. Completely "Meh" over this move. Hope he can play but if not and it tanks our season, then serves our damned right. Maybe it'd be a big enough feckin wake up call to the powers that be at this club. Only good thing I see here is the vague charm in the fact he's from Iceland and his initials spell RAR. But since fans can't get in to chant it at penalty takers, even that's ruined.
Just have to hope the footy fates are kind to us on this one and he's some hidden gem. It'd be hilarious to see him turn up and be so outstanding Leno gets dropped early anyway.
