IT SEEMS...

....our manager is just intent on on buying almost anyone and everyone that’s is wanting to join a new Club...irrespective of pedigree or ability, we just seem to be after everyone

With 8 new additions already this season to the 10 or more we had last season - it’s becoming somewhat farcical and worrying at the influx of players

Does he really know what he’s doing?

I don't think that recruitment strategy is just left to the Head Coach, he isn't the manager, there is a DoF plus a scouting team surely?

We shouldn’t sign anyone until we’ve got rid of the bomb squad? Great idea. Maybe just play them all as well?

Or, maybe a bit of patience is in order.

I’ve recently just started a new job. My manager wasn’t given me any opportunity any more.

Did I stay and hoover up the wages? No. I moved on for less money, but better opportunity.

My career, like a footballers isn’t finite. Clough and Hefele will work that also, but just maybe, they are the problem.

Anyway, don’t let logic get in the way of another moan

I don’t consider Clough and Hefele, or any of the others to be the problem, the problem is the clubs chaotic recruitment policy. We cannot keep giving out generous contracts the way we are, it is simply not sustainable. We have had this approach for far too long, and I actually thought we had noted, and addressed the problem, the reality is, nothing has changed. We will end up with a fat, bloated and generally unhappy squad, players want to play, there is no way you can keep 25+ players happy, of course they will sit and collect their wages, who wouldn’t, we need structure and at the moment I can’t see where that structure is. We are massively over borne with defenders already, but look like signing another one. We need to offload before signing anymore, surely that is only logical, this is not meant as a moan, merely an observation of where the club is heading.

I do think that Sabri knows what he is doing; or at least what he wants to do. But I don't think it is working at the moment.

But in life sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better - thats what I keep telling myself anyway.

This is the first window that Sabri has had the chance to bring in players he wants. Last summer he came in too late to have much of a say in recruitment, and in Januaryy he asked for certain players but didn't get them.

As I have said elsewhere we still have the nucleus of a team that made it to seventh last season so it stands toreason that it won't take much to go one point and one place bet this time. We have lost two key players from that team and replaced them with Jack Colback (or maybe Harry Arter) and probably Cyrus Christie. I think that the recruitment this window looks better than any other window since Britt and Antonio arrived. So let's be patient and give him our support for a few more matches at least.

Yes the squad is very bloated but the reason for that is simple. Every time we bring in new manager he comes with a list of players we must sign for him. The same will happen again if we replace Sabri. A new manager coming in will give EM a list of 6, 8 10 players we must sign before he accepts the job, and before we know the squad now numbers 40.

I hope we stick with Sabri (but if things don't improve I could change my mind) even if that means dropping down to mid-table. At least then we might be able to shed a dozen or so of the no-hopers in the squad and have a leaner, meaner squad for the following season.

We have to have a longer perspective on things.

Whom so ever is manager and irrespective of the style of play, we must stop signing injury prone players.
Sow has been injured since February!

Red, you n mmh she some valid points, but we’ve been saying a lot of what you say for the past 20 years....just how much worse does it need to get before it gets better?

And we’ve seen ‘things improve and get better’ in guys and starts, but never followed through

Consistently being hard to beat and picking up points is our biggest let down...k ok adt season, we were almost there....the first time in a long time...but yet bc again we fell short and failed

We have GOT to start seeing things through and moving up to the next step....no manager we’ve had since Dave Bassett left has managed to go that
