Ole: Winning Mentality

I am sure most people on here would've read Ole's comments in the press today, challenging Greenwood to become a number 9 by heading the ball better. For me this tells you all you need to know about Solksjaer's hunger and winning mentality. Let's all be honest, Greenwood has it in his locker to be a truly elite striker; the world is at his feet and he can be as good as he likes.

Yet Ole sees the bigger picture for the greater good. Solskjaer has identified a weakness in his game and exploited it in the best possible way. Imagine being Mason right now, reading comments like that from a former top class striker who is also your boss! Greenwood will just be dying to improve his heading ability ASAP to show Ole how much he wants to prove himself to him; Greenwood has been challenged to become United's number 9!

It's little things like this that show how good Solskjaer really is. In the past with managers like Moyes (Januzaj) and LVG (Rashford), I have felt as though they've done too much to appease players who were young and had that sheer potential to kick on. What stopped that was weak management, something Ole has clinically proven with today's comments that he doesn't allow for.

Having a determined Mason Greenwood going into this season can really help United's quest for trophies with Ole. I think Solsjkaer has probably noticed how much praise Mason has had in the media in the last 12 months and wants to keep him hungry. I can imagine similar situations with Fergie and Ronaldo in the past, particularly when Cristiano was younger.

How many will Greenwood net this season??

I say minimum of 20 goals in all comps.

If i were a Man Utd fan i would be asking why my manager had signed “I am Groot “ to play centre half for 100 mil.

Please has such a winning manager that he set a Utd record for losing semi finals

Coming from a supporter of a club managed by Klopp, who loses almost every final he plays...

Yes hopefully for you Please can get over the line and actually get to finals rather than set records for losing semis.

Here's a bold prediction; I think Greenwood will outscore Rashford this season.

Let's hope he continues concentrating on these minor things and forgets about the important things like winning matches

My word a Manchester United manager doing this is worth an article!

Also I stopped reading when the OP wrote LVG and weak management.

Slight readjustment actually, 15 in all comps or 57 if he gets to take your penalties
