Unfortunately if we are to rebalance the team, it’s either Auba or Laca centrally for me. Let me break it down real quick..
Aubameyang is our star striker and top goal scorer yet is played on the wing. As you’ve seen over an over again, he still manages to score but is largely ineffective because he isn’t a player who carries the ball and beats his man. He feeds off service from the wingers and midfielders.
Also, by playing aubameyang right up against the centre backs, teams like Liverpool won’t form a high line against us which will create more space in the midfield.
It’s already well documented that we need to upgrade our midfield, notably with Aouar and Partey but if we are to sell Lacazette, I’d say we need to bring in another winger; Zaha being my first choice. It should’ve been him over Pepe last summer but it doesn’t mean we should close that chapter.
Leno
Bellerin Luiz/Saliba Gabriel Tierney
Ceballos Partey
Aouar
Willian Aubameyang Zaha
I love Lacazette but ..

Had enough of lacazette tbh. Not good enough, no getter than giroud

Don't think Auba is fancied down the middle. It is Laca or Eddie.
Maybe that will change if we go to 4-2-3-1 but have my doubts. Auba is played left because he doesn't do enough dirty work to play as a lone striker. He scores so many because he is on the left not inspite of. Could have a negative effect by playing him centrally.

Yes they will.

Auba on the left does work sometimes but against the big teams he really should be leading the line. Auba can easily become a passenger and drift out of the game which doesn’t help when our striker is always completely isolated or has to come back to the edge of his own box to get a touch of the ball. Against the big teams would play Saka and Willian on either side of Auba
