Dave King selling up

He has agreed to sell his shareholding to club 1872 over a period of time.

Big ask for them to raise the amount needed but if they pulled it off would make fans the biggest shareholder.

Sale won’t happen imo. Not to club1872 anyway, too much money for them to raise and not enough fan trust in them

900 quid a member I think over 3 years

That's if there are 14000 paying members

They will need a big positive marketing drive but its a tall order I agree
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn’t trust them with my money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What have they done with funds to date that gives you concern ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve made mad statements in the past, the people running it have been blocking fans on social media, the decision making structure isn’t clear. It needs to much much more transparent and we need to see plans.

How would they cope in another covid like situation without reserves, there is potential for the shares to be diluted over time.

It’s not sitting right with me at the moment. For me to pay in I would want all that cleared up and to be comfortable with those making decisions or be able to directly impact them.

To the members its about having a say
They have been diluted the same as all other shareholders
The business value is nominally irrelevant to those funding this or previous purchases
Getting a meaningful % is the aim
If they could make a trade with a similar stake available cheaper then they would

I don't see much of an issue with it
Its what the members signed up for and fund

Very valid concerns but they have nothing to do with trusting them with the money which was your original point

As far as I'm aware the money is well audited and only has one purpose

They may have signed up to fund the club.

Not sure they signed up to fund Dave King.

I believe it does if you don’t trust someone for whatever reason you’re not going to trust them with your money.

It’s not even fan ownership really be cause the percentage is so small even after that you can’t prevent a hostile takeover. So it doesn’t achieve the main objective of never again.

I hope I’m wrong and they show us all a professional set up it’s successful long into the future, realistically it’s pie in the sky

Well it will have its faults but they are trying
More just sit back and complain

And there is the rub. They and only they are doing this and have come even close.

We will get the usual thing with rangers fans. Why should club 1872 (replace with any other past fan group) get to do it.
