Richard Keys

I don't like to acknowledge the nonsense that he comes out with, because I'm fairly certain it's all to whip up a bit of controversy and pf course it has. However, his latest rant is particularly annoying. Was bad enough he on about the number of penalties we get, but he basically called Martial and Rashford serial divers. I mean, if he'd provided some evidence of their incessant diving then fair enough. Anyway he's a Kn0b

Because a corner completely changes the shape of both teams on the pitch in a way a throw in doesn’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That’s fair - not for me though the incorrect decision is too minor for it to be VAR worthy. If a goal was scored it’s at the fault of the defenders as opposed to the officials

I understand that, Edin. Though the same could be said of other issues with incorrect decisions. But I think it’d be a legitimate grounds for ruling out a goal, even if it’s not something that is likely to happen all that often anyway.

It’s the difficultly of var, though. As you correctly point out, where do you draw the line? I’m a proponent of var, but it’s opened up Pandora’s Box, as there’s not going to be a consensus on the value of certain errors.

No, because I don’t think it significantly changes the passage of play like a corner does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A long attacking throw could lead to a goal as likely as a free kick or a corner
especially if you have an expert exponent of said move...& they're about

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s be honest though, a bit of common sense dictates that we could at least start with corners rather than throw ins.. No?

Yeah...why not

Yeah I guess for me the line is who is at fault. For incorrect pens or offside decisions or reds or whatever the fault lies with the officials. With corners the fault lies with the defence.

Yeah that’s probably the fairest way to view it.

I have more of an issue with what constitutes a red card and a penalty now than var.

Some of the reds and pens you see every other week are complete bullshiiiiit.

biggest issue with VAR is how shiiiit the rules are. At least before it the refs could apply some common sense

Think it’s the Sheff Utd late second goal in our 3-2 win, but can’t find a replay of it!
