Last few games have been disappointing to say the least , the performances have been poor and yet we have done enough with some slightly better finishing to have got a lot more than 2 from 9 points .
I think klopp played Henderson last night for 2 reasons 1 he doesn’t really trust either of the youngsters yet and 2 he is signalling that we need to buy .
I genuinely think we will buy someone as it’s clear if we don’t then we will continue to have nights like last night - even their goal was down to Henderson’s inexperience in the position and playing saints onside .
I also cannot believe that we will continue to get as much bad luck in front of the goal, literally nothing is going our way when we are in front of goal and Whilst it’s clear the players are struggling - Robertson’s shot as well as manes couple of efforts good examples , then our luck and their technique will inevitably improve .
I think klopp will actually put a strong team out in the cup as we need to get some of them finding form and he won’t want another big defeat against villa . We also have a week before utd so no excuses about being tired.
With Utd and city in the next 6 games then if we can regain some form i remain confident we will still be in contention for the title .
So what next ?

Agree re jota , I think klopp needs to review the squad in the summer as we need a few more players like jota that are first team quality and a lot less like shaq . Origi , Williams that prob aren’t of the right standard

The standards Liverpool and City set for 2 seasons running was bonkers, that drop was inevitable.
The drop off has now created a level playing field which makes the top more competitive and exciting again.

I think the standards were helped by the turmoil in other teams.
That's not the dig some will think it is. It happens. For us currently a settled Chelsea and/or arsenal would make a difference to the outcome.

Quite possibly
But the quality of football and efficiency of finishing was something else, that can't be denied.
The points accumulation and to lose what 1 game over two seasons, whether standards of other teams dropped or not was phenomenal.

the only what next is simple.
pick ourselves up off the floor.
in 2016/17 we were absolutely abysmal in jnuary after reaching league cup semi final we absolutely got shredded in january and feburary. we won 1 out 7 with 3 draws.
sound familiar??
well that year we finally dusted ourselves off and only lost 1 of the next 12 and ended up in 4th with 76 points (still a record for 4th)
the only way out of bad form is to work harder, its as simple as that.
the issues are simple enough, a lot of players half pressing, a lot of player unfit and dawdling about (taa)
They all need to buck up and put the effort in to press high up and work very hard.
The reaity yesterday was a simple enough 4 man block utterly stymied our back 4 and thiago in passing out. We couldn't get any out ball. why? because we were taking 3 passes to do the job of one, we were passing it behind players and worst of all we were not getting into positions to give the outball to players.
more work, less formation changes thanks. if theres an outball the players will find it. but theres no point sticking another player into the side far up the pitch and then not being able to find them

Were all top displays and for some reason weve gone back to the days before Klopp where we perform v those teams and struggle v the rest. Obviously doesn’t help when the poorer teams just park the bus and put 10 men behind the ball for 90 mins. But we need to find a solution and fast.
