Midtable mentality

Last night's performance reminded me a lot going to spurs in the 2000's pre Jol. The big teams would come to the lane and cruise to victory without us laying a glove on them. It wasn't much fun to watch but was inevitable as we were a midtable team lacking in quality.

Jose took over a team which regularly qualified for top 4 and had 6 months earlier been in a champions league final. He has been backed well in the transfer market. Yet he has managed to turn us into a shell of the team we used to be.

We did not have another shot on goal after 48 mins when we scored. So we were losing a game and did not even have a shot in virtually the whole second half. That would be unacceptable against Pep's Barca but this was against a team in awful form with Jordan Henderson and their 5th choice CB at the back. That is a complete disgrace and sums up Jose's cowardly tactics.

We're now in Jose's negative spiral. The football has always been awful but now the results are matching. The unnecessary feud with Dele is just pathetic.

Without Kane I imagine we'll look completely toothless and will probably actually be in a midtable in a few weeks time. Hopefully levy has the guts to pull the trigger if that happens.

I can't blame Jose, it's the player, they're useless, they showed this under Poch.

Issue is we need to rebuild but the financial situation is terrible and Levy won't sell anyone on the cheap, it's a rubbish time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How can you not blame Jose? The football is terrible and the subs are constantly negative. Going whole halves without shots or attacks is not a Poch thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cos if Lloris, Dier and Rodon were not morons we would of got something from the game.

The football might be terrible but it's the players costing us points with stupid mistakes, we could play the most beautiful football in the world and would still lose cos the players are morons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They are making stupid mistakes but at the same time the tactics are not suiting them.

Up to the West Ham game we were making mistakes in defence too but at least we were trying to win and making games of it. It took just 4 games to score 15 goals, and then we needed the 12 games after that up to the Fulham game to match the same goal tally.

We're stuck in an absolute rut now where the defence has lost its solidity and the attacking opportunities are much fewer and farther between as the games go on. 1 clean sheet in the last 8 games now.

really cant be facked with spurs at the moment. think im glad its behind closed doors so i don't have to go to the games. its just the same thing year in year out

1. not capitalizing on opportunities
2. making poor individual errors defensively leading directly to goals
3. not reaching our potential

the above has been the same since i started watching spurs in 2005... its just the the baseline quality of player at the club has increased over that time so we win more games than we used to.. but when it comes to the crunch you just know that spurs aint gonna do the business.

as i said in my article yesterday... to dare is to do is the exact opposite of what we do. even in our facking slogan is spursy

Chronic, I have suffered the same era as you. Think my first game was 1996. I remember after we lost to united after being 3 up at half time asking my dad if we had to support spurs

Dreadful decision by me to continue with this shiiite.

Don’t get why spurs ever went for mourinho, failed at chelsea and Man U just before, and both those teams have better resources, not sure why levy thought he’d be able to do better at spurs, especially after going from having poch . Suppose there’s still time in the season for him to be successful, but so far it’s not looking a good fit. Wouldn’t be surprised if you lot went for Hasenhuttl in near future

It’s pretty obvious why levy went for Jose
End of the day he is a very successful manager, and still a big name in football. We haven’t won a trophy for 13 years, and I can 100% understand why he wanted to take the risk. It works or it doesn’t work, but I understand Levy’s thinking

Me and chronic are the same age and I feel exactly the same. The club are literally cursed and I don’t think I’ll ever see us be successful in my lifetime. Just to have to accept it.

I’ve been a supporter since 1983. So coming up 40 years now. Always the same shhiittt year in year out really, and part of me thinks if someone like Jose can’t make us successful then who will??
Part of it is the owners too. Ok our DNA as a club is one thing, but the way ENIC have handled the football side has been poor in the main

oh yeah the 5-3. at least united were good. don't forget the 4-3 to man city when they were shiiiiiiit and down to ten men. absolute overall classic that one.

my first game was a 1-0 home defeat by notts forest. a toothless performance was no attacking quality on show despite having good attacking players on the pitch.

every spurs fan who is a product of growing up watching spurs in the 90s is exactly the same.
