Contact Sport?

Not specifically just about tonight, but I am becoming more and more unclear about what (if any) contact is considered legal?

We seem to accept modern day commentator classics such as;
"Yeh but he brushed him with his chest"
"He definitely touched him"

Is it a contact sport or not?

Ref give a lot of soft fouls for both teams tonight. Some of the tackles where the ball was clearly won were blown immediately. If you looked for them in the SPL the ref would laugh. It seems that there's a different rule book in european competitions. Not sour grapes mind you as I believe players should be intelligent enough to read a ref after 5/10 mins.

Thought the ref was great tonight, a mans man for a mas game.

...Barring their peno of course.

Never a pen, but to be honest I thought Big Maj was lucky to get away with his barge in the 1st half.
