Angus Kinnear interview with two of the lads from The Square Ball available on Spotify on The Phil Hay Show.
AK comes across very well again but obviously doesn't give too much away. Especially with future transfers & contracts.
A few key points;
Shirt Sales far exceeded expectations, sales pushing the numbers of some of the top 6.
Facilitated TV appearances (Ones we are paid for) will stand at 24 for the season against a budgeted 16. For Reference Man City have 26 and the most last season was 27. Should involve an additional income of around £10M. I would imagine that the league position should also mean a sizeable income above budget too.
Dropping sizeable hints that the spend this summer will be reduced on last summer. Plan was to over spend in the first season back to guarantee safety and achieve a squad sufficient for a number of season with smaller top ups. How much of this is managing expectations and for the ears of the clubs we will be negotiating with we don't know. If budget is say £60m I would focus on 3 key players (LB, 8, Winger/10 that can cover both sides and through the middle)
De Paul will not be happening and has never been on the cards. Angus Kinnear did joke that if they could afford him they would buy him just to shut Dan Moylan up.
Talks about the expectation that we can get even more from Raphinha next season and that no one at the club would be surprised to see Rodrigo win player of the season next year given the talent he has.
Process of producing designs for stadium expansion have begun. Intention is to achieve 55-60k capacity. Believe demand is there and that will enable us to close on some of the top 6 with matchday revenues. No timescales on this and I imagine it will be a long slow process to design, submit, to planning, find a contractor etc. And Premier League football needs to be secured for a couple more seasons before pushing the button. Expansion will take place by building over the existing stands (North, West, South) while keeping the stand open to limit any reduction in capacity as much as possible.

I've met Angus a few times as he is a big supporter of where I work (local community to Elland road) and I can honestly say he is a really down-to-earth football man!
Was really honest about the financial concerns that were involved when the club was in the Championship and talks openly about football club finances being 'close to the wire' of cash flow negative a lot. He also talks about the biggest clubs like this also.
Really loves your club as well, Leeds would do well to keep him around for a long time, even if the club outgrows his current role or is sold at some point!
His Bielsa stories are epic!!
Anyway nothing really to add just thought id mention how nice of a bloke I think he is

Shirt sales in bonkers. Next season's home shirt is the same as this season apart from yellow stripes instead of blue and a slightly different collar, yet it'll still be 60 quid lol.

We sold out of “man” sizes so quickly, then interest drifts. Bet we have many more available this year right from the get go.

Done well with the kit considering the 2nd and 3rd kits are awful imo,
Main targets are LB and right footed wide player
