Fuchs and Morgan - end of an era

The term: “legend" is often overused, but not for this pair.

Christian is our greatest ever LB
And Wes is out most successful Captain ever

To think I raised an eyebrow when we signed Wes from Forest. Never have I been more embarrassed 🙈

Fuchs is leaving 😭😭😭

Morgan is da man 👏. Clearly led our club on and off the field. Whilst he doesn’t come across as that articulate he’s clearly very intelligent and respected in the game and not just at our club.

On the field he has been a leader in every sense of the word during our most successful period ever. For that he deserves our appreciation and his legendary status.

He can captain Cladio’s title winners vs Brendan’s FA Cup winners in the multi-testimonial match.

As for Fuchs - what a player. Probably the best left back ever to play the game and anyone who challenges that is a moron.

Leicester and Forest fans don't often agree on much, but it is nice to see we do on this point.

I have never been a big fan of Wes's technical ability, but he became a club legend for both teams. Comes across as a really top bloke on interviews and must surely have a great future ahead of him in either management or football administration.

A top Captain and a pleasure to see him lift the FA Cup on Saturday. a fitting end to his career.

2 legends

Wes Morgan gave a rock solid performance in the 15/16 title winning season and people forgot Wes played every minute of that season 👏👏👏 His blocks, interceptions and defence coordination was immense. His winner against Southampton and his equaliser at Old Trafford that get us the title are all unforgettable moments 👌 Thank you Wes Morgan and good luck 👍

I always rated Morgan as a defender in the Championship. I was just surprised when we bought him because we already had the magnificent triumvirate of Matt Mills, Sol Bamba and Sean St. Ledger who could clearly take on all comers between them, meaning we didn't need to splash out on a new centre back.

(Ok, so I liked Sol Bamba.)

It's amazing to see what's happened since though. His partnership with Robert Huth just clicked. Sometimes things do. Also worth noting him as a black club captain who won and lifted the Premier League trophy. Which shouldn't really need pointing out, but it doesn't happen often enough. I thought in latter years he might go back to Forest for a year or two to add some experience, but I think that ship has sailed now.

Fuchs, I think we believed we were getting a decent deal there; but he's another one who turned out to be so much more than that. I'll always remember him as one of the best crossers of the ball I've seen - didn't always get in the position to do it, but his delivery was absolutely wicked and delicious, and so consistent. And, of course, a legend just like the others for what he achieved.

Best of luck to the pair of them in their future endeavours (which in Morgan's case I understand means moving upstairs).

I wonder how TB feels about the whole of Leicestershire bar him voting Tielemans player of the season.

His team mates recognise it.
The fans recognise it.

Come on TB, it’s time....

Very well deserved, the goal alone would be enough

It would be a sensible decision, if he didn't have so many team mates far out in front of him

Nothing to add to these wonderful tributes, except I shall also miss Fuchs for those long throws- surely there should always be a couple of players in a squad trained up for those.

Whilst in recent years there have been several additions to the playing staff at Leicester, some with more style and verve than others. But when it comes to backbone, character and resilience you would be hard put to name anybody (except for Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel ) who comes close to Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs. Absolutely integral to our success in 2016. It's good to know that Wes is still going to be associated with the club and that Christian Fuchs will at last be reunited full time with his family.
The best of luck to them both and also to Matty James (who was keeping Drinkwater out of the team before his injury towards the end of the Great Escape season).
Thanks for the memories.
