Apparently the FA want Southgate to continue even if he loses against Germany.
The England team that has been served up is dismal and offers very little in terms of attacking threat.
This is the best set of players Southgate has had, he has been in the job for five years. No excuses now, there is nothing left he can offer the job
But it's not Southgate that is the fundamental problem, it is the Football Association who are and have been unable to run a successful national team, which is why unimaginative Southgate still clings to the job.
The FA has too many non-football people making crucial decisions and has too many competing interests preventing it from making the necessary and difficult decisions which would finally see England field a successful team.
Therefore the FA should be discharged of it's responsibility to run the England teams and left to concentrate on it's other responsibilities. The England teams should have a new governing authority composed entirely of football professionals and totally independent of the FA.

The FA are run by lots of Daniel Levy's who don't know how to get the best out of their team either.
Southgate should definitely be got rid of if he doesn't beat Germany. There aren't any excuses; we have home advantage, Germany aren't the best, we have very good attacking options. Then after that it looks a very manageable route to the final. If we don't beat Germany it's a massive failure, simple as that.
