So are you all saying it's Kane's fault

that Levy is untrustworthy?

Is that the sort of club Spurs is?

I mean please correct me if I'm misunderstanding but reading the comments about Kane blowing off training it seems a majority think Kane is in the wrong for ever believing anything Levy said to him?

Kane believes Levy gave him his word about a transfer and Spurs fans think it ridiculous that your best player may foolishly believe the Spurs chairman is a man of his word.

It may well be possible that Kane has been a tad naive, but surely the real issue is that Spurs have a chairperson whose word is effectively worth nothing.

Oh whatever, just blame Kane for having the old fashioned belief a man's word actually means something, when it comes to ENIC it's simply all his own fault.

———————————

There has never been anything said by Kane or Levy about any agreement between them. Nothing has appeared in print except speculation by the media.
When Kane comes out in public an declares that he had an agreement with Levy, then I will believe it.

There might (I don’t know) have been a “what if discussion” something like…….what if a club offers a massive amount of money, will Spurs let me go.

Only HK & DL know if they have had such conversations, the rest is pure conjecture by people😳🤔

How can a gentleman agreement to leave this summer have been broken when the window is not yet closed.

If the agreement was to go if an insulting bid is offered then it has been broken. If the agreement was to go if the club gets just reward then it has not been broken.

If a bid is made that is reasonably close to asking price then Kane might have a point to ask for some compromise but he doesn't have a point.

If Kane is that desperate and really wants to force a move then instead of going on strike he should lower his wage demands which would free up more money for city to offer.

Harry Kane is thinking about Harry Kane and nothing else.

Anyone seen this article of agreement, if infact it does exist ,sounds like a media fantasy story to me
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I reckon it was merely spoken, never documented.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So pure fantasy then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it was documented, its a contract, if it not documented it is a gentlemans agreement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Such a 'verbal contract' can be binding under Scots law. Proof is always the burden.

As sucky as it might be for him Levy's done nothing wrong so far.

He signed away any leverage he'd have in this situation when signed a six year extension. A "gentlemen's agreement" is nothing, it's just words. If Levy chooses to honour it (which he doesn't have too), he's within his rights to price Kane at his value to him/Spurs - not to City or what Kane thinks it is.

The ball's in Levy's court because Kane put it there. Knowing what a pain in the @rse Levy's always been with star players who want to leave just makes him even more stupid

I believe that, if he truly had an agreement with Levy that he could leave should a £100m bid come in and Levy has reneged on that, Kane should develop a back injury and be out until January.

Insurance would pay his wages so Spurs wouldn't be out of pocket, it would give clarity to the tottenham manager that Kane couldn't be part of his plans and it would give Spurs fans a great reason to point their ire at Levy.

You can't be blamed for standing your ground and sticking to your guns when people back out of agreements.
