To compete financially with the big boys.

E.g.

Spunking
£70m+ on a rubbish winger
£50m on a rubbish CB
£300k+ a week contracts to past it players

We should be competing for the league with the amount of money we've spent since 2013. The Ozil signing was the beginning of the end, everything from then onwards has been a disaster.

So that we could join the football elites, which I thinks it’s fair to say worked. We were invited to join the ESL after all.

So people could go to games instead of watching illegal streams.

tf mid way through his 2nd season i was already saying we should sell him.

Anyway according to wiki we've spent around 700-800m since 2013 and Alexis, Auba and Tierney are the only positive signings we've made, absolutely criminal what's happened at this club.

That was when we starting winning a few trophies again, nine years with nothing before then.
