Our strategy is to fill our squad with some of Europe’s most exciting young talent, with players from both our academy and further afield, that can grow and develop together under Mikel to take us where we want to get to.
“Our approach for this window was framed by fully recognising that we are not where we want to be on the pitch — finishing eighth last season, with no European football for the first time in many years," he added.
“Whilst this will not be overnight, we can make positive progress, and it gives us the best route to future success in a sustainable way."
That’s the proof this lot will not sack Arteta under any circumstances, they have an excuse to keep him now.

Our strategy is to ensure we are relegated to the Championship. We will let Mikel Arteta decide when he wants to leave. He gives good press conferences and is well dressed. We think he is doing a fantastic job.The fact we have a 100% record in the League Cup proves this.
Our approach for this window was to make ourselves look good having spent £150m on world class talent.
Some may even get a game or at least make the subs bench. The game v AFC WIMBLEDON is the one we really want to win.
Trust the Process

I'm sure there will be circumstances that would see Arteta lose his job, whatever those circumstances are will not be known until he does lose his job, if he does.
It's a sound strategy to develop and you've gone and bought players under that framework and you've spent a lot of money in the process to begin to develop this as well.
There is still a lot of work to do within your first team squad though, so they are right to say it's going to be a few more transfer windows and a lot more shifting of players and signings of others before you can get a squad that is capable in all departments. Arteta will probably get the time to prove that he is capable of doing that, but if he doesn't, a manager capable of working under your framework would be a sensible choice.

This would make sense if we had a manager who can actually develop players.

Yeah that is the key we need a manager and coaches etc that can get best out of these lot now. There’s a tonne of work still to be done, and it’s probably unrealistic that it can all be done in this window. But the strategy has a chance to work if a manager can get the best out of these lot, form an identity and push for us to be back in Europe so we’re able to attract the next level of player who could progress us on further. It remains to be seen if these were all good signings and form the start of a successful strategy, but it’s also clear that they will certainly need a good template lead clearly from the coaching staff. Because they’re not players who are coming in ready made to accelerate us on from last season

The statement sounds like it comes from a man who has little power over the main problem at the moment.

All I see when I read this is Arteta is staying for a lot longer yet. It might be time I get back into fishing more, peaceful, relaxing, fresh air and you get food to eat you catch yourself. Beats the disappointment and heartache of supporting Arsenal at the moment.

Not sure why you are blaming Vinai and Edu. Its clear they want Josh Kroenke's appointment out. Can't do anything about it so are trying their best to calm the fanbase.

As far as I am concerned these people are deliberately trying to relegate the club

How is it clear exactly? They may well want him out but there has been nothing said or leaked to back them up. And wanting Artitler out doesn’t automatically erase how incompetent they are.

Its started with that strange statement made by Vinai last season 'Arteta is a very power individual', then the article this season when Arteta was referred to as 'mini Wenger', followed by Edu and Vinai comments on how they want to go for a certain profile of player (turning down an experienced goalkeeper Arteta wanted from Liga) then specifying that Arteta specifically pushed for Tomiyaso (at the time of the outcry of AMN being excluded from training). Just look at the tone of the comments made by Vinai.
There is a definite split in my opinion between the thinking in the States and management in this country. How can there not be when you hear the hostile reaction of the crowd, media amusement at Arteta keeping his job?
