Which one of our players do you think are smart (high IQ) or generally have a sound mind outside of football vs the traditional cliche that footballers are generally dumb.
I feel that the following players are smart (going by their interviews)
1) Bruno
2) Maguire
3) Varane
4) Rashford
On the other hand I think the following have thick skulls
1) AWB
2) Sancho
3) Martial
4) Lingard

Sancho isn't dumb at all. Go watch his interview with Rio. He handled "leading" questions regarding Dortmund
in a way that made Rio seem somewhat nieve and...dumb.

Messi and Ronaldo have incredible football intelligence yet seem a bit stupid when it comes to traditional intelligence.
It's like how we measure animal intelligence based on how animals perform on tasks which we measure human intelligence on.
Imagine animals tested us on their aspects of intelligence. They would think we are stupid.

Yup. Can't fault his effort, and in the moment when he doesn't have to think ahead, like a 1 v 1 he's terrific, but he lost the place there. Whether it's a red or not, why give the ref a decision to make in that area? Not smart.
