Rachubka happened......
My G-d we have had some real lows the last 20 years, but this was right up there and we should be thankful we have an owner who has gotten out of that mess and a coach who has given us some amazing highs made all the more impactful when you remember this Histons, Rachubkas and Hockadays of those times.

Nobody was worse than Kebe. He was genuinely horrific. There were others too but I'm not calling too many ex players out. Had some absolute howlers over the years and like the above said, puts today's struggles into perspective.

The amount of loans we had was incredible. About 2% of them worked out.

Paul nicholls, captain…

Ah Kevin Nicholls. Wise gives him the captaincy and jumps ship after a few games to go back to his beloved Luton. No problem calling him out.

God that was a horrible night. It actually feels like more than 10 years but I do remember Ian Hollaway almost being embarrassed how easy it was for Blackpool and trying to give us some crumbs of comfort for the futire bless him.
As bad as that was though I think I would also rank that 6-4 home defeat to Preston after being 4-1 up at the break as a little more painful , just because of who their manager was at the time.

Non-sports fans wouldn't understand it but some things are too painful to relive, probably because they rekindle what you felt at the time. Sunderland in the FA Cup is my all-time low. If Howson and then Beckford hadn't retrieved the situation in our League 1 promotion game against Bristol Rovers, I'd never have been able to watch that match again. But as it is, I've watched it literally hundreds of times. In those days, the good moments were few and far between and we should appreciate these golden days while we can.

Although I was only 8 when we got mugged by the Germans in 1975, I was sad but probably a bit too young to feel devastated but that would come 7 years later.
The only time I have ever cried after a Leeds defeat was when we lost 2 nil away in our final game at WBA in 1982 and I sobbed my eyes out listening to our defeat on the radio in my bedroom and although we weren't relegated that night it felt like we would be a few days later I think it was when WBA were away at Stoke and we needed WBA who were safe to win which to me seemed a long shot and indeed it proved to be so and we were indeed relagated later that week as I expected and my tears a few days earlier prepared me for the inevitable.
You never forget those moments so yes where we are today is to be appreciated even though we are 17th at the moment there is still plenty to feel encouraged about and ultimately hopeful of a happy outcome in May next year.
