FIA Inquiry

So the outcomes of the FIA's inquiry into the use of the safety car will be announced on the eve of the new season

So Hamilton will either have to commit or walk before the FIA concludes it's inquiry

Should think so too.

Personally, I hope he decides to continue....and George Russell absolutely wipes the floor with him

Just a ploy to get Masi out. Hamilton is the much much the bigger sell and he's effectively a bargaining chip atm. The narrative for next season is already written with Hamilton seeking revenge ......

If Masi goes to make Hamilton stay then surely it's nothing but confirmation that the last few years have just been rigged to make sure the celebrity driver wins?

This reminds me so much of a few years ago when Celtic were threatening all sorts of boycotts to the SFA over refereeing decisions, completely ignoring that they got 99.8% decisions in their favour. But that one time the referee gave a throw-in to Hamilton when Celtic were 3-0 up... conspiracy!
Never mind the penalties they would get for their players throwing themselves to the ground outside the box, or the penalties they'd avoid for massive corner cutting... sorry, hacking down opponents in their own box.

Massi's positions looks untenable. There are many teams and drivers who have stated their doubts about him and like Merceded feel he got it wrong in Abu Dhabi.Which of course he did.

Problem for FAI is that by all accounts they don't have natural replacement

It's funny, up until the last couple of laps in the last race I'd have been firmly anti-Masi. Been absolutely spineless all season and allowed Wolff to bend him over and do unspeakable things to him.

Even in the final race, he was willing to let the race finish under the safety car, not allowing any cars to unlap even when it was completely safe to do so. Thankfully his spinelessness shone through when Horner contacted him and reminded him that they should finish the race as a race.

I feel he may just have grown a spine during the "we went motor racing" comment to Wolff. So I'd be willing to see if he can actually hold his own next season and not be bullied so easily.

Or I'm completely wrong and he'll immediately disqualify every car other than Hamilton's at the first race next season. Who knows?
