So talks have been broken down. For the way he went there when no agreement has been yet made, he can't ever again play for Arsenal. We should do to him what we did with Ozil, even though Ozil never disrespected club like this. I'm really disappointed with Auba's behavior recently.

He was the captain.
No respect for your club, let him rot

Why do you people insist on making villains out of every player who isn't perfect? Especially when it isn't clear what they really did and to what extent...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think its pretty safe to assume that whatever it was he did was of sufficient seriousness for Arteta to take action. No club would undermine their manager against a player as it would lead to anarchy in the dressing room.
The big issue with this whole thing is the ridiculous pay deal that he was given back in 2020, the club never seems to learn , there has been a number of instances where contracts were not renewed in a timely manner. All contract should be reviewed in their last 18 mths and any player who will not sign and threatens to run their contract down should be sold while they still have some value.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Whatever he did"...
Thats the thing. You don't even know! One thing we DO know is that Arteta can be a bit of a hardarse. Who's to say Auba isn't bearing the brunt for some of that? Did he do something to deserve being dropped. Very likely so. Does the punishment fit the crime? Who knows. So until we do, is it right / fair to say he should "rot"? Feck no.

We will probably never know the full story , Arteta would have needed board backing to do what he did so I doubt its just his doing

Puh-lease. All Arteta would need to say is "I can save you £350k per week". Do you think they'd beg for a full explanation beyond that?

Whilst some of you might like Arteta, I think he has learnt some things from his time as Guardiola’s assistant.
One of those things is never allow players to give you less than 100%, he has faced up to Aubameyang and won.

I completely agree. Which (and I appreciate your comment may not have been directed to me specifically) is fine if there is cause. My issue is that calls for Auba to rot etc without knowing anything about the less-than-100-percent Arsenal / Arteta got.

I dont buy this. What did Ozil actually do??? Ask yourself that. Was it because he refused to take a pay cut? I dont see the issue with that as NO player was obligated to take a psycut...especially from a billion pound club. Did Ozil refuse to train or play? Nope. Was he in the best of form...no but that does not mean he should have been frozen out as he was. Was it due to the speaking out against China...if so..then shame on the club for putting money ahead of human rights.
So all in all, Ozil did NOTHING wrong to warrant the treatment. What makes you think Aubameyang did? Lateness is NOT the reason to freeze a player out...whether a star player or an academy youth.
Take Ozil, Saliba, Guendouzi, Pepe, Martinelli for the longest time and I am inclined to think this is an Arteta issue and not a player issue. Whatever standards he is trying to set off the field,, he would be best trying to actually get standards on the field and get rid of players like Xhaka who always lets us down, or his love child nketiah who is just sh11t

I think this may well have been the biggest reason, China does not faff about nowadays when they declare someone is persona non grata.
As for 'shame on the club,' this is the Premier League in the 21st century, be it Arsenal, City, Newcastle or Brighton and Hove Albion, in the end money talks louder than ever unfortunately.
Mind you, it's hardly as if Özil's been tearing up the SuperLig since he's left. The impression is that he hasn't really had his heart set on football for a good number of years now. Who knows, maybe watching Madrid collect all those CL trophies right after giving them his best years left an emotional scar of sorts too.

Yeah Ozil and Auba were both in poor form when the freezing out started. But poor form has never been a reason to do that. Arteta is a little dictator...and for an average player, I dont see where he gets the basis to do this kind of stuff

If you think about it though, there's been a malaise at Arsenal that set in years and years ago, back when Arsene was still around, and that's never really seemed to have lifted. It's definitely much older than Arteta's time at the club.
Wasn't it Arsene who gifted Özil that ridiculous bumper contract? Didn't it also happen with Alexis or Bendtner or some others? And he basically lost Fabregas to Barcelona after making him promise to give him another season. And there was the RvP thing too.
I think the bigbest problems at Arsenal have been further up the ladder for years, which is why over the years they've permeated everything from the playing staff, to the medical teams and the scouting.
Your heartless, absentee owner is a very bad example I think. Most club's owners allow themselves to at least be seen around the club from time to time. Isn't there an old saying about what the mice get up to when the cat's asleep?
