The World Club Championship

Anyone else totally underwhelmed by this competition?

I'll be watching it and want us to win, as I would if we were playing a Sunday League game on Hackney Marshes. However I don't view it as an important match and much more concerned about the next three available league points and this seems like an unwelcome distraction.

It has less a feel about it as a Charity Shield game and two of the contestants I'd never even heard of before.

As I said, of course I want us to win this afternoon but I'm not going to consider us the best team in the world if we do - as it's simply not true!

I think that the fact you have to win the CL to even get the opportunity to compete for it means that when you do get the rare chance to add it to the collection, you should at least try to take it.

Being that it is the only trophy that we haven't won, personally I would like to complete the set if possible. Having said that If we don't, then I won't be losing any sleep over it either. I am more concerned with how poor our performances are currently.

Well, it's in the bag 69, back to proper business next week!

Need to be playing better than that for the run in though - badly missing Reece and Chilly!

Very true Brum

Agree with Biggish about Palmerias. Their antics were making the fact that they lost so much more enjoyable.

It's weird how desperate they are to win it!

I can say this now and nobody can say

"Bitter"

If I had to choose before yesterday, between winning that trophy or the upcoming League Cup final. I would choose the League Cup final every time.

I'm happy to say we've won every trophy possible to win. And I know there's a chance to win the league cup every season, but for me the League Cup is the bigger trophy.

As I've said in my Lukaku article, if someone could guarantee here and now that the most we'd finish behind City is the 13 points, (before they played yesterday) and we finish 3 and win the League Cup, I would accept that here and now.

Because we are playing Liverpool, i think winning the League Cup is bigger, however i am not sure how i would feel if were playing someone like Burnley in the final.

I get that.

But the trophy does feel like a Charity Shield or pre-season "Makita" trophy. (For those that can remember 93)

Biggish am I too harsh on Lukaku in my article?

I kinda stray away from him a little when talking about how a 7 point lead turned into a 13 point deficit. But then (injury aside) I do think he's not been great. And I get that we've lost Chilly (rest of season) and Reece for an extended period. But still............

I think people in general are too harsh on Lukaku, although I agree he made a major mistake with his interview to Sky Italia

My take from yesterday's win is that if it annoys Spurs fans it's a great thing
