Dangerous tracks

The commentary teams have blamed "dangerous tracks" for accidents. Surely the teams and drivers should take the nature of the track into account for every race and act accordingly to the risks. Street circuits always have a higher risk of accidents. The blame can only lie with the driver, excepting contributory mechanical failure.

It is normal 4 sum drivers of cars 2 compleetly ignore rode condition n drive fast anyways.

Saudi was a death trap last season and we've seen 2 more nasty crashes today. Looks amazing and the money is to free flowing for them to ditch it, but its just not safe at all. Ocon nearly carbon copied Mick on the very last lap.

Every road can be a death trap unless you drive accordingly to the nature of the road and prevailing conditions.

if thats the argument ... then ban the sport as its dangerous. Thats the whole point of it.

Its not a normal job, only a special few should be able to do it. Personally I hate all the run offs and margin for error modern tracks have.

I prefer it this way, make a mistake and your race is over.

I have been a driver for nearly 50 years and driven over various local roads which had a reputation for being dangerous because of hairpin-bends or adverse cambers into corners. When driving on a road that is new to me I am careful.
F1 drivers are not driving on unfamiliar roads and get the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the current track conditions.
As I said in my original post, barring mechanical failure, an accident is usually the driver's fault.
I am not calling for a knee-jerk reaction of banning the sport. There are other sports which have higher mortality or injury rates and don't get paid astronomical wages for the risks they take.

I think the sport is getting a little to safe.. Too may run offs, the price for making errors now is becoming less and less and a result you see this reflected in the drivers. Too often now a mistake doesnt cost you enough. Drivers choose to roll off the brakes and use run offs now to cover their mistakes and can continue sometimes with an advantage.

I preferred it when a mistake meant a big lock up or a crash or into the sand/gravel and trapped. It lessens the skill gap now when drivers can get away with making mistakes.
