Ole may never have had the quality to take us back to being title winners but his time here is grossly under rated. To get these bunch of 5h1tbags to 2nd and 3rd place is definitely not a poor result. Even his first season we almost made CL football despite Jose getting us off to a very poor start before being sacked.

getting this United squad to 2nd less than 12 months ago was an incredible achievement. One we probably wont see for a long time.

Apparently we finished runner up because United were better than Liverpool last season. But this season Liverpool are now 6 years ahead of United. Do the math.

Being English and one of the lads will that mean he always gets jobs whereas Ole seemingly won’t? Is he a good manager at all? Has he actually achieved anything or is he just a guy coasting on his playing days?

You can add Gerrard to that list.

Teams like Norwich, Burnley, Leeds, Everton and Watford have been truly awful at times this season. Really really bad. Villa sit one place above them and their recent form is worse than all of them below.

He’s really underwhelmed hasn’t he? He did do a top job at Rangers though so it would be foolish to wrote him off.

If Villa can get a win shortly it could get a little nervous for them.

Gerrard only won 1 trophy at Rangers. Should have won more considering Celtic had Neil Lennon in charge. St Johnstone won more trophies than Rangers whilst Gerrard was in Scotland. Callum Davidson > Steven Gerrard.

The point is valid though. I regularly read that “Gerrard did a top job at Rangers”. Did he really? He won 1 domestic trophy out of 9 (or was it 10?) … in a 2 horse race! Going the league season unbeaten to win his only trophy WAS very good, no question … BUT it was in a weird season of pretty much no fans at games north of the border, and Celtic totally imploding under a snus chomping alccy who’s now managing in Cyprus. Gerrard did have some very good results in Europe, admittedly. All in all, I’d say the jury is very much still out on Stevie G the manager, but let’s calm down with the lazy narrative that he was brilliant up here.

What a load of cobblers. Gerrard stopped Celtic from winning 10 in a row. Only manager to win that league in the last decade without managing Celtic. Now that he's gone Celtic are back on top in the league. He also worked miracles in Europe, showing technical nous and understanding of the game, which has carried on into this season.

That was all achieved in his 2nd year as a manager. He's a rookie being judged like he's been 10 years in the job but that's actually a good thing. Villa would be 11th if only games under Gerrard counted. Not bad for a guy with less than 5 years experience.

Considering the absolute shambles we’re witnessing now, Ole’s record of 1 QF, 4 SF’s, 1 Final, and a 3rd then 2nd place finish all with the charismatic breeze block that is Maguire, is looking almost Kloppdiola.

He is the one responsible for the shambles. Undercoached and undertrained bunch of players on big contracts who had it too easy for the past 3 years.

He’s one of the reasons this squad is such a mess.
