Bournemouth v Forest - Match Thread

Bournemouth (A)

A three point gap.

I must admit that this is all very unfamiliar territory.

Other than seeing most of the 2015-16 season live, it’s been audio / streams and now the Bein brigade since I left England in 2008. Including the FA Cup we’ve been on the TV 25 times this season. Getting used to watching us on the TV instead of my laptop / phone has been weird. Seeing us with a 2022 record of W17 D3 L3...incredible.

Swansea came to improve their goalkeepers passing and boy did we make them pay. They had their moments, but we could have had ten. Surridge could have had a hat trick before his 21 minute demolition. A trademark header, a beautiful second and a dominant third. The own goal and the Mighten finish demonstrating our hunger.

Mighten looks like he has hit the weights and the treadmill in equal measure. Laryea looked good again. Amazing the desire from players that have been waiting a long time to take their chance.

The commentators were in awe of our play. Let’s give them two more to salivate over.

League Form (last 10):

*Form Table: 1st v 4th
*GF 26 GA 4 v GF 17 GA 9
*2.7 PPG v 1.7 PPG

Over the last six:

*Bournemouth (H) : W2 D4 L0 - GF 8 GA 5
*Forest (A): W3 D2 L1 Home - GF 7 GA 3

Second v third then, an early play-off final. Whilst we did the double over Swansea, Bournemouth took care of business in Blackburn. A win at Bournemouth and it comes down to GD, a draw or loss at Bournemouth and we’re hoping Millwall keep their slim play-off hopes alive by winning at Bournemouth. Of course we all know this, spending hours staring at the results and table.

Beat Bournemouth and automatic is ours I feel. I just can’t see us going to Hull and losing and not scoring the goals required for a winning GD. In fact, I can see us doing another demolition job up there.

Our last outing against Bournemouth was before the light of Steve Cooper’s arrival. Let’s just hope I don’t regret my Cooper full back tattoo. A 2-1 loss with Gabriel at RB, Figs at CB, Tutu at LB, Taylor up front and Carvalho trying to make the difference off the bench.

Team News:

Grabban is of course out for the season. Lowe unlikely to get on the pitch and Davis? As much as I love Davis, I think a spot on the bench is the best he can hope for. Surridge with five in four games is the man of the moment.

Our team? Same again. Whilst they looked leggy at Fulham, they looked like they could go 12 rounds after the Swansea game.

Prediction:

This should be some game!! If you were a betting man, you’d say it’s a Forest win, even though Bournemouth have only lost 3 times at home this season.

It should be an electric atmosphere full of goals.

3-2 to Forest.

We’ve come this far...let’s finish the job.

And if not? We should have five more games to enjoy.

COYR!!!

Too many different possibilities for my limited little brain to process in regard the playoffs!

My only wish is we rest up all our key players for a good 10 days and have a go fresh, give it our best and see where it takes us

A different Forest? We played you in March in your cup final ( FA Cup) we lost 2 - 1 with half of our first team out... I think its you who face a different Town side... & these dreadful pundits creaming over Forest...&saying we have no chance... Bless them.. They are writing our team talk for us...

Terrier we’ve both got to get through the semi;s first, take nothing for granted, the Blunts will be no push over. Hope to see you at Wembley, if that happens we’ll discuss again.

You said that last time Werther's:

They are writing our team talk for us...

You lost.

We've played you three times this season.

W2 L1
GF 4 GA 2

I find it bizarre that you only mention your one positive result against this season.

Fair play to Muff, they totally dominated in the second half and the goal was straight off the training pitch. Having said that, the dreadful offside decision and subsequent penalty against Sam would have changed the game.

As we have no idea who we will play in the play-off semi-finals, (seeing as it could be one of four teams), then I reckon we should play the second team.

Horvath
Soh Figs Panzo
Laryea Cafu Ojeda Donnelly
Lolley D.Taylor Silva

Fill the bench with the U23s.

A win or loss won't impact the first team and it gives us ten days off.

Nah - don't be pessimistic.

Notts F will smash the semis and will win comfortably at Wembley.
