Almost there

CELTIC are closing in on securing Jota on a permanent transfer and expect the deal to be finalised by the end of the week, according to reports.

The Portuguese winger joined the Parkhead club on loan from Benfica last summer and played an important part as Ange Postecoglou's side sealed the Premiership title.

Celtic included an option in the loan deal where they could make the deal permanent for a fee of £6.5million and the Scottish Daily Express report that the clause has now been activated.

The report adds that the 23-year-old and Celtic 'have all but agreed personal terms'.

The Premiership champions have recently acted on a similar clause for Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers, who impressed in defence during his loan stint in Glasgow.

It’s a forum. It’s where discussions take place. If you’d prefer a vacuum for your thoughts, then I’m sure you can find such places.

Literally, no one I can remember disagreed.

All that happened was a counter argument and some nuance. You then went all stampy stampy like you were recently dehydrated or something.

No-one said it directly , plenty just posted laughy faces as if to suggest it was a joke when it wasnt. but didnt care to actually attempt to debate it , or jumped on the defensive ... ahh but , ahh but.

I was just posting what a great job we have done to assemble the squad we have at a modest cost (apparently half the price celtic have paid), I have no idea why so many had to then feel the need to reply? I wonder if it was because they initially didnt believe that was the case?

but alas well done Rangers... managing to assemble that calibre of squad for half the price you rivals did.

that deserves plaudits.

I may have posted it to ruffle a few feathers of those who some how seem to struggle dealing with positive rangers news, I may not have.

‘Completely agree it’s silly to focus on it alone.’

Rest of the comment completely focuses on what he’s spent.

How do you not see that as you’re typing it, man?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What part of Celtics spending means there was no expectations placed on Ange 🤣 He was allowed to have the joint highest wage bill and spend 25m with no expectations that would improve things
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahhhh! So now we’re changing the parameters of the debate! Cool.

Still, to only focus on spending would be stupid without taking into account the other factors-but that’s still what you’ve done.

No probs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I wasn’t involved in the debate on spending, couldn’t be bothered.

But aye considering the other factors, like having the highest or joint highest wage bill last season, selling players like Edouard who didn’t appear to want to be there. So starting from a good base, and then bringing in 40m worth of players (spending 25 and two players with options to buy for 15m in total).

You’d assume there would be some expectation of improvement. Obviously Rangers were favourites, and it was a year of transition, but simply you can’t spend 25m and bring in loans with options to buy in Scotland without some expectation of improving.

So, no one said it at all. You took the hump because folk provided a bit more substance to the statement. You completely ignored the points raised, and stuck to a line that you’ve admitted no one disagreed with.

Brilliant.

That post is literally all about spending.

Are you ok???

To be fair I was understanding you meant spending vs net spending. As that’s what had been thrown at me before.

But I’ve already said Ange deserved plaudits. Factors outside finance mean very little, nature of football. Why it’s such a huge achievement for Rangers getting to Europa final this year.

Is our good base anything approaching your £200m squad? As I implied before, the 2012 crutch is still being used as a smokescreen when convenient for some.
