Hey all.
I had written this article a few weeks back https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/444815
about Bissouma and Cucurella. The players were mostly dismissed (Bissouma for the court case and Cucu for not doing it long enough at a high level). However, both players are seemingly on the move..one to Man City and the other to Spurs. Considering the high regard most in football have for both those managers and the fact they have recently been better than us, do people still think we could not have done with both players? Especially Bissouma for 25-30 mill.
Thoughts?
Where do you feel we need to strengthen if we are to complete in all 4 competitions and have decent runs and maybe win a trophy?

I think we could have used both, but neither as a priority. Bissouma is very similar to Partey and for FB we only need a backup, so it makes sense to buy someone more versatile and someone who will cost less so we can invest into the more needed areas of the pitch.

Not an Arsenal fan, but surely you guys need at least 1 top level striker and possibly a back up as well?

Yep, ideally we'd have an outright CF who can play alongside or instead of Jesus. Looks like it's just gonna be Nketiah, which is risky.

We are in dire need of a top notch striker and I am not convinced Jesus is that. Unless the aim is to really push the sharing of goals across the entire front 5 of Martinelli, Jesus potentially, Saka, Odegaard and the new guy Vieira (if that is finalized). I definitely see the merits of having all five chip in but still risky. We saw how bad it got last season. With Lacazette not scoring and then losing all confidence in front of goal.

I actually think Bissouma is a better DM but Partey is better at progressing the ball forward after getting it from the back 5. I can see Partey stepping into a box to box role (which is his actual position) and having Bissouma sit in front of the back 4. Maybe not for every game but I'd do that with most away games and any game versus top 6 challengers
