Striker…

Where do we turn now?

It seems Ronaldo is off, and Greenwood looks unlikely to be released anytime soon.

We have Martial and Rashford capable (word used loosely) of playing the role but surely we need to be in the market for a striker now?

I believe ten Hag has always operated with a proper CF?

you think we should beg him to stay?

The Glazers and people that own this club believe you me are doing that now.

I doubt it very much. But I am sure they will give that impression to appease the Ronaldo fan girls.

rosso’s on the Toney bandwagon.

I mean, there aren’t a shiiiitload of particularly exciting, attainable and affordable options out there, are there?

I’d still be more excited to see Bruno being given a run at false nine between two narrow inverted wingers and in front of two eights (or one with FdJ box to box), but regardless, at least one striker will need to come in for options and in case that experiment didn’t prove fruitful.

Something like:

————————DM
———————————FdJ
———Eriksen

Antony/Sancho—Bruno—Sancho/Rashy

And I’m saying that’s because it’s what people that know fack all about football would do.

Yeah I’m hopeful we can get rid of Ronaldo and play with a forward that isn’t like playing with ten men. I hope we are looking at Gnabry, though there’s rumours City might bring him in to replace Sterling.

Gnabry would be dope. Would still need an out-and-out nine bringing in though.

Gnabry/Elanga
Bruno/Toney
Sancho/Rashford

With another versatile forward, Po… Gonçalves, say, would be a nice mix

I’ve a feeling that Martial’s going to get another chance. There’s just no market for him, and Ten Hag has previous for working to help underperforming players raise their level.

I would actually prefer that if it meant we could bring in another cm and, or, a right back. The tactical flexibility of those forwards wouldn’t be the worst, and improving our defence and ability to build up play will really help them as well. I don’t think it’s any surprise that Eriksen, Martinez, De Jong and Malacia are targets for us - they help build up play, thankfully Ten Hag has realise how big this problem is for us.

Whether they are good, average or diabolical not my business and not the matter at hand, I am telling you what we (Manchester united) are probably already doing once he asked to leave
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So far you have proved to have no idea what you are talking about.

We will say we want to keep him but other than that we won’t be doing anything different other than looking to replace him.

Re. Martial, sadly I think that’s a distinct possibility. Past time for player and club that he moved on, IMO.

Re. the rest, I don’t really know anything about Malacia, but yeah, the spine is hardly chock full of tidy, committed, incisive and sharp passers of the ball at present, or, Bruno aside, players adept at finding space in which to comfortably receive the ball.

I’m basing Malicia on what I’ve read, and the YouTube videos that show him to be the Dutch Evra.

Being able to progress the ball seems to be something he’s good at. When you consider that Shaw is the only full back we have any good at that, and he can’t be relied on to stay fit, it’s understandable that he’s the profile of player Ten Hag is looking at.

I wasn’t joking when I said they Brighton build up play better than we do. That’s what good coaching does. Getting some more suitable players to help us as well will do do much for our attackers. Too often they are having to force the issue and make things out of nothing because we can’t simply pass the ball well enough to create easy opportunities.
