In fairness, I misspoke it's not all of the left. But a very very high proportion of them on this forum and in general society.

For what it's worth, it doesn't look like it was a proper gun, certainly not a full on shotgun. It looks like some kind of improvised device that looks like it used batteries or something to power it.

Obviously doesn't make much difference to the outcome, but it is a bit easier to see how it might have been missed. Though security still surely screwed up, this guy got close enough that any kind of weapon would have been deadly.

Aswell as that - guns crimes are super heavily punished, and guns are regulated in Japan to the point where they have virtually no gun deaths, so it's not like it's a common threat they have to worry about.
