Fringe Players

Now the tour is done and dusted let’s look at the fringe players who impressed and who did not.

Those to me that did not endear themselves to the manager.

Elanga, not going to make it for us, did nothing at all.

Beekers the same.

AWB proved today that he is not a footballer and is utterly atrocious. Everything he does is negative.

Telles not for me either although in his favour he didn’t play in his position.

Lindelof will likely remain because he keeps fit but he really is a poor defender.

Chong, Diallo, Laird and Pilestri are not any good. They just are not.

Those that are worth keeping.

Iqbal, Savage, Garner and Hannibal.

The way I see it is if we don’t get FDJj and I don’t think we will, then we are looking at a midfield of Fred and Eriksen.

I will give Fred his due has has had a pretty good game in all of the tour games.

Yeah I think even with FDJ Fred will be a useful player. My only problem is that if we don't get FDJ we have ceet little real depth there.

It's a shame Garner has been injured in preseason. As this is surely a chance for him to leapfrog McT in the order. Not sure if he's good enough to be a starter. But he's done well on loan and doesn't need to be that good to become a squad rotation option for us

We might see Garner start with Fred in the next pre season game.

I'd like that. Just to see how he acquits himself. We play two games next weekend so I'm sure he'll get a decent run out over the pair of them at some stage

Lets be honest nobody last May thought that United would start the new season under ETH with a midfield of Fred and Erikson and gratefully recalling and depending on Martial to score the goals.

Lets hope the transfer window picks up in the next couple of weeks

Any confidence I had in an efficient, smooth transfer window ended when I read a month or so back that United were trying to get Michael and Will Keane's brother in on a temporary basis to assist with negotiating.

How the hell can you go into a window so underprepared and uncertain of having the right men in place to get the job done? And now here we are. ETH's comments yesterday weren't those of a man thrilled with how the window has gone thus far, that's for sure

Also Ronaldo has scuppered United twice in the last 2 summer windows. Firstly for returning last August and now for walking out this summer half way through his contract. But TBF, I cant blame him for either of them.

Nobody expected Ronaldo to leave. Especially when it was reported that he stated he was staying.

Nobody is buying or loaning Martial at his price and wages on his recent form with Seville and his last months at United under Ole. So we have to make do with him. I can only think that United are actually expecting Greenwood to be totally exonerated

And the Frenkie saga is a joke caused by Barcelona. United should have walked away and look elsewhere weeks ago. But apparently ETH still wants the deal to happen. Allegedly.

…..

I think we will put him up for sale if that happens.
