Brave Luis Suarez

A throw back to the good old days when players played on with broken backs and dislocated shoulders.

Suarez must be congratulated for playing the rest of the derby with a broken leg after that horror tackle catapulted him through the air and left him writhing in agony on the floor.

You always know then someone is genuinely hurt because when they go down they put their hand in the air. A "stop everyone, I'm genuinely hurt here" kinda gesture that other players and officials respect and respond to.

Sagna did it at the weekend and I remember the likes of Ramsey doing the same after his leg was busted.

If only all premier league players were as brave as Luis Suarez. An example to us all, especially the youngsters watching.

Martin Atkinson has a lot to answer for.

It was his call after all. No?

UnitedRedMacca- I taught Rooney and Berbatov the overhead kick (U2024)

Did Suarez dive for the Rodwell challenge?

Did he dive for the pen?

No to both.

That's the difference between Saturday's match and Berbatov last year.

Rubbish

There was contact for both and both had exagerated responses.

Agger clipped him in the box when he was nowhere near the ball. That is a pen whether the player goes down or not

The fact players feel the need to go down when they have been clipped, to show the ref he was clipped, is another debate

Liverpool wouldnt make top 4 even with Atkinson's gifted 3 points...no where near good enough, were being outplayed before the sending off

And for most of the 70 mins with 10 men

Rodwell's red card was NOT a red card, it was not a foul and I do feel a little embarassed when Suarez goes down so easily.

However the Berbatov penalty was just as much of a joke as the Rodwell red card, and just emphasises the point that referees need the help of technology!!

No goal line technology until 2013, referees making 'human' decisions until the Tyrell Corporation up their game.

Is Howard Webb a prototype Nexus-6??

Or is it Martin Atkinson?
