Of all the rumoured players we have been linked to, this summer... If you could pick two to add to the squad before the window closes.. Who'd it be.
I'd go with FDJ and Tammy Abraham.
Our midfield would be as good as it's been for a decade or more and we'd have plenty of attacking options, if we find some form.
Choose Two...

Paying 70m for a 30yo rather than paying 100m for Rice is bananas.

It's 60mil.
I just wanted to join in

You would rather have a 30yo that probably has 3 years tops at the peak of his powers than a 23yo who has 10 years left?
It's unlikely you will win anything in the next 2/3 years while Ten Hag builds his squad so 60m+ add ons will be pashed up a wall.
Casemiro is a top player but his signing is a symptom of the decline at United. Always trying to plaster over the cracks.

Is Rice for sale? Will they sell him? Would he come to us?
you seem to be in the know....I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Rice, if he was even available at all, would have cost comfortably twice the fee for Casemiro.
There’s no way West Ham were letting him go for £100m.

Everyone is for sale for the right price.
Would he leave West Ham for Manchester United? Really, that's a question you think there is more than one answer to. C'mon lads you've fallen but not that far, he's not gonna say it's the shiny athletics stadium for me.

We’re not the only other club in the league mate.
My point was that there’s a load of factors at play here. So saying ‘why you getting Casemiro at £60m and not Rice for £100m’ is a bit of a non-starter because Rice is clearly not as available as Casemiro.

You are one of two that pay those fees.
We've seen how scattergun the United approach has been, i have no confidence they weighed up all availabilities then plumped for Casemiro as the best/most sensible option.

You think they just have some kind of random name and bid generating algorithm?
The club has made a bunch of poor decisions on transfers in recent years, but I’m yet to see anyone suggest that that’s through a lack of even basic effort or diligence.
In fact, for their incompetence, we know that that isn’t the case, because we’ve been told how the process works by multiple managers and the executive already.

Rice is going to Chelsea. It’s an open secret.
