and I cannot believe the nonsense from the media and pundits about Richarlison doing a bit of ball juggling during the match. This sort of thing used to be commonplace back in the day, and it should be seen as entertainment for the crowd, not condemned.
The pundits did not utter a word about the bad tackle that followed. They thought that was fine, but a bit of ball juggling was not.
I personally found it very refreshing that Richarlison during the heat of battle had the time and the space to do a few tricks. More please is what I say.
How could anyone not possibly like what they saw?
I am old school as you all know,

Completely agree Sandy. One of the most famous clips of this nature was I think an old Fulham game from the 60s or 70s where George Best and Rodney Marsh attempted to tackle each other in a game they were already 4-1 up in. It's entertainment. People that take issue with it and call it disrespectful probably couldn't do it themselves.

Question for the people saying they see no issue… have you played the game to any decent standard and if so, would that still be your opinion if you were on the opposing team?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. As others have said he was doing keepy ups, not like he took a sh*t on their half time oranges.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough, if that’s your honest view.
Personally I’ve seen it many times on a pitch and the opposing team has never been anything other than piissed off by it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is far worse things to get offended about during football matches.
I have seen my fair share of intentional leg breakers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not an either / or… you can dislike more than one thing at a game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but to me doing a skill on the ball whether to gain a benefit or not, ain’t something for the opposition to take offence at. Nor is daft goal celebrations. Playing to the crowd etc. all part of the theatre.
Plus as others have said, Richarlison was looking to draw the foul. Run down the clock further. And done exactly that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally disagree.
If someone starts showboating then it’s taking the mick and I think quite normal for the opposition to be annoyed about it.

Quite often it can be a more skilful player's response to being roughed up by the opposition. Totally warranted, imo, and far less harmful than being repaid with a leg-breaker. Don't know if you'll agree, Winston, but I'd actually be pretty surprised if you subscribed more to the Souness-type 'man's game' angle.

No, I’m certainly not advocating for a leg breaker!
My first post was a little tongue in cheek because the article refers to the good old days… which lets be honest, used to celebrate hard tackles as much as skill!

Hard tackles yes Winston. But not deliberate leg breakers.

If he played for another club and he did that against us, while we were losing, Sandy would have lost his mind and created several articles about it.

Alfie Conn sat on the ball in one match for Spurs as I recall. The crowd loved it.
-----------------------------yeah remember it well sandy, against all conquering Leeds, apparently one of the Leeds players said to a spurs player if he does that again we will knock six goals passed you, I think we needed to win to ease relegation worries, -----------------------------------------
