VAR & Refs & Time wasting

Time wasting seems to be the new big hot topic in football and although the very deliberate and obvious can be annoying, the amount of ball out of play time is not helped by the refs/VAR.

4 and a half minutes to judge the handball decision last night. If VAR was watching the same replays as the viewer then he basically saw the same angle over and over and over again! How many times do you have to see the same thing before you make a decision? and if its clear and obvious should it take 4.5 minutes? I dont even want to get into the question of whether the ball hitting a player with his arm stretched out, above the shoulder is hand ball or not. But if there is this drive for speedy play then VAR needs to pull its finger out of its arrisss and make timely decisions.

To add injury to insult, despite there being 2 further periods of injury to players, only 4 minutes were added on. Should have been a min. 5 mins and probably 6.

So while taking time over goal kicks and free kicks etc is a bit of a frustration, taking minutes out of the game for VAR and then not giving it back in added time is simply not acceptable.

I noticed the ref in the Leeds game the other night blew his whistle 10 seconds early, while at Anfield, LFC scored in the 8th minute of 5 minutes added on.

Bloody refs cannot get the basics right

Spurs are masters of timewasting.

Lloris teaches it to Phd level.

Supporting Spurs is a waste of time

Dear lord, did that sound funny in your head before you wrote it

It made me smile tbh.

"Spurs are masters of time wasting" based on what exactly ??
Everyone knows every team wastes time, depending on whether they are winning or losing.

Facking Muppet.

Lloris and Pickford are the biggest timewasters in Europe, do you actually watch football?

Look at the Varpool match, the referee basically kept playing until they scored, there was 5 mins of added time and they scored in the 8th minute of added time.

Then there was Newcastle`s disallowed goal for offside, which was clearly onside but manufactured into an offside by the VAR ref, talk about bent officiating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool scored in what was once known as "Fergie time". Newcastle players looked like they were running on empty near the end of the game. Training, or Physio, issues maybe?

If you saw the Leeds Everton game you may have seen the ref talking over his headset to his aid when Pickford was time wasting!..

The tricks and crap Everton played was a sham but nothing was done against it!..

And time added was diabolical!..

Pickford invented "time wasting" several seasons ago!

Nah it was just injury time.

Another issue they could easily get rid off is the time wasting after a goal.

Classic example was when Salah scored against Man U and Fernandes decided to go hug the ball and swing a few handbags. Time should immediately stop and begin again at kick off.
