Ramsdale

Should we be worried?.. he isn’t saving us points and almost always a blunder away from disaster. He looks off form and inconsistent.

He should have anticipated the second goal like all other top GKs.

We haven’t seen enough of Matt Turner to make judgments. I think we should seriously invest in WC GK next season and let them fight it out.

There’s no PL keeper that would have beaten Rashford to the ball for the second goal. Rashy picked it up fully 25 yards out, and wasn’t even at full tilt. If Ramsdale had gone for the ball, he’d have been embarrassed.

Ramsdale did just about everything right with the first goal, and could have done absolutely nothing about the third. He also came out very sharply to save a one-on-one with Ronaldo (and we know how those usually end up) outside the box later in the game.

He didn’t have a bad game at all, IMO.

Questions about some of your defenders’ decisions, and about your failure to create decent chances all game given your possession, but the biggest difference yesterday was between ETH and Arteta, who was outmanoeuvred (or managed to outmanoeuvre himself).

Yep pretty much this. The defending has to be questioned, especially Gabriel stepping way to far out, causing zinchenko to cover him which then left Antony in loads of space.

Then attacking wise we couldn’t create enough key chances, and couldn’t finish the ones we did. Man U did defend well tbf, but we should have done better. In hindsight, we should have been more pragmatic in our play. I get we wanted to impose our way of playing now, but we’re not yet at the level to fully take advantage upfront to negate the risk of playing such a high line at all times against some good attacking players

One dodgy moment where his pass was intercepted which led to the Bruno chance, but he did really well to come out and smother it to recover.

Haven't watched Arsenal at all this season apart from yesterday, but I'm surprised there's question marks around him. Think he's been a great buy, and really should be England's number 1.

How was he at fault fir Utd’s second goal ?

Yeah I was thinking the same a few games now. He is error prone also. Thought he needed to do better at Antony's goal also, he left whole corner empty. It's like he is saving only shots that are pretty much saveable.

So he's not saving any that are unsaveable?

What
i meant he is saving shots that are meant to be saved. Any better shot goes past him.

He had no chance with any of the three yesterday. (maybe the first, but it would have been a wonder save). He did really well against Ronaldo and Fernades later on as well, I thought he had a good game apart from one scuffed clearance.

He’s better when the defence is on the back foot

Technically, his positioning was pretty much perfect for the first goal.

With all top goalkeepers the key skill is concentration, if you look at Ramsdale last season he had some really good displays the thing that links all those performances was the fact he was really busy he had to make a lot of saves, he was always in the game. Now we are seeing us control more games he doesn't have as much to do so the key for him is to be alert so that when he's needed he can do what's required. That trait is the difference between a good keeper and a top keeper. He's still young so he has time to improve that side of his game.
