On Sunday Wolves welcome Leicester City to Molineux.

Two teams that would normally be found high mid table find themselves grovelling around the bottom places.
Leicester have managed a win against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest and draws against Brentford and Crystal Palace. On Thursday, a 2-0 home win against Leeds saw them move off the bottom of the table.
Wolves have not fared much better with wins against Southampton and Nottingham Forest and draws against Fulham, Newcastle and Bournemouth.
Wolves are currently 1 place and 1 point above Leicester.

These two teams have always been fairly evenly matched and it seems that they still are. Their games are always tight affairs and there is no reason to believe that this game won’t be the same.

The last time either side won a game with more than a one goal margin was in the Championship in May 2007.

Gem’s prediction: 1-1

Of the seven first team signings in the sumer only two were Mendes clients.

Two of the three that have been basically useless.

They haven't been great Gem but that doesn't mean they were poor signings at face value. No doubt both are good players, they have proven it elsewhere.

I think Nunes has been pretty good to be honest. I don't think we play him the right position though, which lessens his effectiveness.

Guedes is just another forward that we have signed that has struggled. At some point we need to look at the way we are playing, rather than constantly making out player that a good elsewhere can't do it here.

As I stated yesterday, both Nunes and Guedes are being played out of position.

I think Nunes has been in and out with his performances. There have been enough good moments to show he has plenty of ability but at times his passing has been poor and he has disappeared from games. I wouldn’t be clear yet what his best position is. His style tempts you to think he should play further forward but the game where I think he impressed the most was at Chelsea where he was picking up the ball deep and making runs into the opposition half. I think that’s what he was doing at Sporting

As for Guedes he just doesn’t seem to have settled here at all. Whether that’s just a footballing issue or moving to a new club and country who knows, but he hasn’t been imposing himself on the games at all. He was a key man at Valencia so I can’t believe it’s down to a lack of ability. Again not sure what his best position is. He has played attacking midfield, number ten and striker for Valencia. I think probably he will be best playing behind the striker, competing for a place with Podence. But we haven’t really had a striker for him to play off. But then he hasn’t had much game time since Costa has been here

I don't remember seeing that on Nunes yesterday. Where do you think he should be played?

For me, I think he is either being pushed too far forward as an attacking midfielder or second striker; or stuck out on the right in a midfield three where he is being asked to play too rigidly in a midfield area that becomes to crowded.

I think he would be much better playing in a two alongside Neves or Traore, where he'd have more space and be able to drive forward with the ball. Or in a three where we have one midfield that holds and two that are allowed more freedom to get about the pitch from midfield positions. I believe the midfield two is how he has played previously.

Something like this is probably how we'd get the best out of Guedes and Nunes.

------ Nunes Neves
Traore Guedes Podence
----------- Costa

A video has been posted on MolMix about Neves being off in January. Neil Roberts basically just asks him to keep up his form for the next three months when presenting him with the September player of the month award.
