ETH - is he the one?

Now obviously it’s way too soon but that doesn’t mean that we cannot have opinions even at this early stage.

From what you have seen of him in interviews, the signings he’s made, how the team is performing, the results so far, the handling of personnel difficulties - do you think he might finally be the manager that over a 3 year period gets us back towards the top?

Beating City is clearly going to take something but perhaps challenging regularly and maybe another CL?

I’ve been excited previously but mostly by some of our signings (which we know mostly haven’t worked out at all). Under Ole at times I thought he was getting us back in the right direction but it fell apart and didn’t gather enough positive momentum.

For me, I’m the most positive I have been for some time regarding the upcoming few years ahead.

Our football is better. We can pass the ball, play it through the thirds, his signings have been good. He’s benched Maguire and I’m sure will deal with Ronaldo certainly now.
I’d love to see what he can put together with another two transfer windows.

Hopefully we can continue as we are and that will breathe confidence into the squad, not complacency, which will see players like Sancho show us a lot more.

I’ll just add that I’m not getting carried away or anything but so far so good for me.

I’d give him 7.5/10 so far.

Can anyone see any major problems on the horizon that I’m missing?

Good article. I'm really impressed by ETH. What United really needs is to ensure he has a world class supporting team. Summer signings seem to have been quite well judged but we need to be consistently bringing in high quality players of the right profile at competitive prices if we're going to give Ten Hag a squad that can compete for the title. There's fierce competition to unearth these players, and it requires a best in the business DoF running a team of data / scouting people to give our manager a level playing field, let alone a competitive edge.

I meant to make an article on Casemiro but cba now.

A lot of people doubted him due to age, price and possible last night pay day signing type but he’s really impressed and shows what we’ve been missing for best part of a decade. I assume ETH had some sort of sign-off on his signing and it’s proving to be an excellent call.

Casemiro + Fred + Bruno/Eriksen = potentially the best midfield in the PL outside of City’s.

Spot on RR, but I don't see much change going on in the backroom set up.

We can not have people anywhere near the club that come up with solutions like Rabiot and Arnautović. These kind of people must be shot.

Think he was the best or at least most exciting candidate you could've got at the time

Joking aside if Ronaldo had left, Arnautovic may not have been a bad option. Still glad we didn’t sign him though.

This is a good article man.

Benching Maguire. Oh wow. I mean, I could’ve made that change, we all could, but it’s very refreshing. I’d forgot about him, which is great as well.

His signings are some of the best I’ve seen in a short time, like he’s had.

His interviews are not the most exciting, ala LVG, but expect the unexpected amongst his cool as ice demeanour. Seems very calculating as well. Thinks about his answers carefully. Eerily long, sometimes.

And finally, can he topple the behemoth that is City? He’s well placed if you consider the inside knowledge he has on the machinations of a Pep structure.

Good times ahead, I say.

Craig Pawson has cheated 3 games in a row. How is he ref? I honestly cannot believe how someone can be so corrupt?

I'll reserve judgement until he's sold/sacked dalot, lindelof, telles, bailly, rashford, coco.

But I suspect that he, if allowed to stay long enough, could sort out the academy. Which would be both necessary, and in line with the club's strong tradition/philosophy/culture in that regard.
