World Cup Migrant Workers Fund

Apparently we get $10K per player per day for their attendance in Qatar. So for JJ, CCV, Mooy and Maeda, we're in for $500K plus.

Personally I'd be happy to see that money go to a fund for the families of migrant workers who have died building the infrastructure for this ridiculous competition. If we are a "Club Like No Other", let's show it.

Maybe the Berrs could do the same with their Barisic money.

Player was going away from goal, and not defo a goalscoring opportunity as a result, I guess.

Or if he thinks the goalie was making a genuine attempt getting the ball.

Hope Qatari get reemed now.

Show - the money is based on who the player played for the last 2 years so we won't see all of it and not sure who they give it to for CCV who was only on loan last year?

Moot point, your idea is decent.

Are these payments instead of countries being responsible for any player that gets injured whilst on International duty?

Its a nice idea
Not sure how it would be administered mind you

Seems a debate on the thousands number which we are told is not all WC stadia related and then the was it 16 but some of those were natural causes

All rather confused, smoke and mirrors perhaps

That said even 1 death is too many but how would you ensure the money got to the correct people ?
Not sure the local authority would be open with the information required
They also state that compensation has already been paid
Perhaps not to be taken at face value though

All that said it is a good idea

On the $10k if the player has played for 2 clubs is it split ?
Thought the registration of the player was what triggered it but it seems not to be the case
I was told hearts actually factored this in when making signings (they have I think 3 players there)
If they are only getting half the money they may be rather annoyed

I agree with Duke on this. Who administers this fund?
Reminds me of this fund they've set up to hedge against losses from climate change. 3 card Monte.

It shouldn't be beyond the wit of man to identify a channel which would direct the money to the right people. Amnesty perhaps. A UN agency maybe. There are wiser people than you or me who will know.
