The red knights fella has just been on radio 4… Reckons if United can find a buyer it will be just shy of 4b.

4 or 5 billion would be fair

Question for the more financially minded on here.

If the Glazers were to sell say 50% of the club for £2bn, who is responsible for the debt, and funding the new stadium / renovations?

As in, i cant see someone buying a susbstantial share of the club, and being happy to be part responsible for the Glazers debt, plus half the cost of whatever the stadium costs would be, on top.

It'll be factored into the sale price

Added on to, or taken from the purchase price?

It depends. In some cases massive struggling companies have traded hands for token amounts like £1 but you're also accepting responsibility for all the debts and mess. Chelsea were reportedly bought for £1 back in the 80s I think.

With United there'll be what it takes to get the Glazers themselves to sell then other interested parties and commitments that'll need satisfying.

Yeah the Glazers would no doubt want the lions share of any funds, so unclear what would go to them, the debt and the stadium fund.

Probably a great time to buy stocks anyhow, if they sell it’ll be for a profit.

Did anybody get on this?

33% up today, if it sells for the projected £5bn you'll get a dividend of around $80.
