I am wondering whether the £10 I will have pay to see the game is worthwhile, but I suppose it is an addiction that I cannot easily stem.
Perhaps rather than try to appraise Rochdale’s qualities, it would be more relevant to address the capabilities of Rovers. Can they get a few good shots on target?
Recently, apart from the 4 at Newport, they have actually got only 1 on target in the Tranmere and Walsall games, but none at Colchester so assuming that they will not score every time they test the goalkeeper, they will need to break that cycle if they are to get anything out of this game. Rochdale do usually get at least 2 shots on target and sometimes more.
This is a very fundamental statistic and could be seen as a measure of the value of Schofield’s coaching.
After Tranmere, Schofield said that he didn’t think the team had implemented his system and that he could not explain what had gone wrong. It was clear that they were half-hearted in everything they did, failing to put in anything like 100%. If he can’t see this, then there is not much hope. Actually i can’t see that there is a great deal of hope, even if he does eventually correctly identify the flaws in the performance, because his plan (whatever it is) has yet to prove its value.
So, if he does not deliver a good win I would see this as definitive evidence that he has made things worse. Even without a comfortable win, he would still have a long way to go to even return to where we were when he took over from McSheffery.
But I’ll be optimistic and say 0-0 again.
DPL v Rochdale

Greetings fellow Ziggers.
Not been on for a few months, still like to look on here for what our fans around the world think of our beloved Rovers.
Massive rumours going round about the sponsors looking to take over the Rovers, allegedly offered a certain amount but, the board are wanting more for their shares.
The players have split into two camps, those wanting to work under DS, try to get into the play offs, then the others who are more interested in talking to other clubs in January about moving.
You can see there is a big, big, difference at this club, compared to when McCann, Moore were here.
How can you go from losing the play offs and a year later, being 3rd with games in hand at Christmas. Win those 2, we would of been top going into the New Year. Compared to now.
Fans, well 90%, agree, its the board that needs to go. Wellens stuck the knife in the other week too. Let his heart rule his head, he said. Shouldn't of gone anywhere near it, its a bad apple to a lot of people to be honest.
Can see the fans turning on the players if the don't put in a shift, need to stand tall, fight for the shirt. Not flag the fans off, ( Anderson) only a matter of time before the coffin makes a return🤔
There are some fans, not very many, who say give DS a transfer window to see what he can do, but like others have said, we don't buy anyone who is any good, or good players don't want to come due to crap wages.
It's know wonder John Ryan has said we need a total clear out, starting at the top.
All the best to everyone of you for the coming year, let's hope its a good one, especially for the fans 👍

If we can't handily beat Rochdale, maybe coffin time is coming. The fall from challenging for the Championship to barely winning games in League Two has been unbelievable. Did it start by "giving away" Ben Whiteman?
I may miss the start of the game because of commitments, so I've no idea which names DS will pull out of a hat to choose the team. I'll stay stupidly optimistic and say Rovers 3 Rochdale 1. Rowe to score if he starts, or Biggins if he does not. If neither, Miller.

Yes, unbelievable decline. John Ryan was a football man through and through. The current owners are not and maybe that lack of passion and knowledge of the game is the issue. The jury is out on Copps for me. Let's see whether he and DS can turn it around, but I'm not convinced.
Tonight, I'm going to hope that everyone's had a rocket and they're going to be 100% committed. 2-1 to Rovers. Miller with ghe first.

Rovers 2-0 Rochdale

1-0 to the Rovers - Biggins with goal.
Good comment from BVZ - couldn't disagree with any of points raised - giving Schofield the job was a wrong move and showed our present lack of ambition.

Outplayed for long periods by the team in 23rd place. No pleasure in watching it. This so called coaching expert has taken away what skill they had and they were utterly negative for nearly all the second half. It’s the worst they’ve been for years. Schofield is an awful coach. It’s shameful.

I agree, there were so bad in the second half that I stopped watching after Rochdale's third goal. Before these three matches I was hoping for 7 points based on wins against Tranmere and Rochdale and a draw against Carlisle. After today's pathetic effort agains a poor team, I cannot see us getting anything out of the Carlisle game.
Sunday morning I'll have the option of choosing between a few Premier League games on at the same time as the Rovers.......

That performance was papering over the cracks. Conceding 6 goals in 2 games doesn't bode well. Some of the players had better games but the 343 system just doesn't work for us.

Another very poor performance by our CBs again, I believe they have only scored 3 goals away from home all season till they came here. Strange things happening with Anderson, fans booing him, some fans actually clapping for him, yet he got bullied again but scored the winner, so everything is alright then 🤣
V Carlisle, I believe our CBs are going to get hammered. Dont like to say that but, Williams is not good enough, Anderson has lost 20% since his last injury, so getting took to cleaners by any player with a bit of nous, see 3rd goal v Rochdale.
Hope I'm wrong but there is something not right with our beloved club, from on the pitch to the board room, things need to change, new year, new start....... we can only hope
