As someone who actually has seen him play for multiple seasons I can say that Gakpo for 50m is not much of a risk and could even propel himself to a Salah or Mané level of status on the long run - judging on his skillset and providing that there is sufficient chemistry with the teammates.

I think, at the minimum, he will be an able body due to his pinpoint progressive passing and crossing, intelligent runs and one-two's with decent ability to dribble to boot. He doesn't have the speed of a Mané or Salah, but he is by no means slow. His technique is decent, but not Brazilian level stuff. The physicality of the Premier League might give him a false start and as mentioned before, the chemistry will be very important. For example, his linkup play with his ex teammate, Xavi Simons, is superb while he doesn't enjoy the same understanding with his teammates in the national team.

With the talent we have up front, Gakpo has every chance to excel: another outlet for accurate passing and crossing, smart link up play in tight spaces, just like Salah, he will seek spaces to run into and he's the most deadly when delivering that final ball or indirect assist, even when it's crowded.

His goalscoring exploits can also not be underestimated: Inside or outside of the box, he can be dangerous from different positions and is decent in the air. Speaking of which, he's at his best at the left side, either as a winger or attacking midfielder and can also play straight through the middle as forward or attacking midfielder (Firmino role). Lastly, It will be interesting to see who will take the corners and free kicks. I feel he has the same crossing and shooting ability as a TAA and Robbo. He's rightfooted.

looks like a good fit for Liverpool. can play anywhere across the front three. fills the checklist for what Klopp looks for in his forwards.

50m for someone who will perform better than 80/90m paid for Antony who on they eye looks more talented but doesnt seem to affect the game as much as Gakpo does.

Strong , fit, good engine decent technically can play in multiple positions, good age. Seems like a very smart deal

it's up to the player after that to step up to the new league, he has done his business in Europe and world Cup as well as Dutch league so we will give him time to find his feet too.
