Sheepy for the record I have renewed but I might be missing most of the season as (fitness considering) I could be off to the Falklands and then Afghan. coz I've heard it's quite nice out there. Can't find either place in the Co-op brochure tho'

Dru, I'm with you on this....He does seem to be able to turn unknowns into decent players...I remember him coaching a couple of lads from costa rica while he was at Derby...I know one was Solis who was unluck ay Derby coz of the non-eu quota ruling and his travel companion didn't do too bad...now what was his name?
David Beckham speaks very highly of McClaren as well his 1 of his books.

ND is not a stupid man he knew that sacking Billy would be a gamble as the vast majority of fans still backed him as he is a proven manager at this level and ND need a safe replacement with the fans.
McLaren is that gamble and like you say he does have a habit of spotting players.
SM has had it a little tough over the last few years so would like to see him do well. However if ND is all about cost cutting even more so with the EUFA money stuff going on it could easily turn to bite all involved.

The sooner this UEFA ruling comes in the better for football. What is it. You can only spend what you take in...I bet the yanks are worried they will have to spend more...

I've got a journalist friend who tells me Billy's backroom antics aren't that dissimilar from his fellow Scot George Burley... he has an eye for the ladies high up the ladder

Mc will do a good job without being a world beater wherever he goes. As for the negative jibes re-: Nigel, why is it that all the players have nothing but positives to say [even Cwyka]. Judge at the end of his contract, but I know my hard and easy earned will be on promotion 2011-12.

Billy and Nige were appointed at almost exactly the same time. Let's see a nice bit of symetry and rid ourselves of Burton Boy eh?
