Forget the transfer activity and finally wining a game again. The pictures of James and chilwell back training is enough to cheer up any Chelsea fan. The correlation between their injuries and our form is scary, rarely have I seen two full backs so important to a team offensively. My biggest worry is how they keep coming back from such serious injuries and what it's doing to them. Regardless of how much we need them in the team I think slow and steady is the only option here. Mentally I've already wrote this season off so no rush for me, let's get them back to their best and go again next year.

Still an outside chance of top four if we have a good 2nd half of the season.
Just need to keep the players fit and hope some of the new forwards can have a positive impact
Wouldn't write the season off just yet

It's gunna need to be a very good 2nd half of the season, we'll need to go on a run soon & with all these signings that's going to be difficult. It's not just the points that need making up, we need to get bedded into 5th-6th first.
If I had to make a prediction now I'd say we'll miss out by a few points. I do think we'll improve cos players that we've got can't be this sh!t for this long, well over a year now.

Chelsea will probably need to win about 15 games to get top four. I’ll be surprised if they are close and will do well to even get into the Europa.

Lol 15 wins to overhaul behemoths like United? There are only two teams in this league right now that I would say are likely to sail through the rest of the season.
The likes of United and Newcastle could very easily suffer a collapse in form at some point.

Us and Newcastle don’t need to be especially grate to get about 70 points. Especially with our home form and the teams we have to play there. Chelsea have so little margin for error if they want to get top four and aren’t playing well. Both teams could well collapse, but if they do it’s more likely that Liverpool and Spurs capitalise given they can score goals.

Liverpool and Spurs are just as bad as us.
Don’t get me wrong it’s a lot of hypotheticals, I’m just saying if we manage to find a way to put a good run of form together it’s still possible to make top 4 considering we aren’t up against the most formidable challengers. There’s just a lot of them

They are but Spurs still win games when they are shiiiiiit, and there’s more reason to believe Liverpool can put on the kind of run needed for top four when they get a couple of players back in attack.
Possible but it seems highly improbable because you will probably need something approaching title winning form. And that’s even if we collapse to be as colossally shiiiiit as we were last year.

15 wins now gives us a minimum of 73pts - that'll 100% be enough to finish 4th, decent chance it'll be enough to finish 3rd.
Top 4 isn't that competitive in terms of points these days, the more you've needed to win the league the less you've needed to finish 4th, 65pts gives you a decent shout. Don't care how good you & Newcastle look, seen these collapses at the finish line too many times over the last five years now. One of you will drop off.
Being 11pts off right now isn't the biggest problem, being 10th & having to wrestle ahead of five other teams is. First things first, by the International break in March we'll need to be 5th or 6th & I'd say no more than 6pts off to still have a chance, and being in-form at the time would be a benefit

Yeah so around 15 to get to around the 70 point mark that will probably be needed. I’m still unsure on Newcastle because they might start to bottle it once CL football starts to become a real possibility. We’ll be fine unless we have a really bad injury problem.
But Chelsea don’t look a threat anyway. Liverpool are the real threat to these two teams. They’ve got the quality to put big runs of form together and have most of their tough opponents at Anfield - where they’ve still got a good record this season despite their poor form.

Chelsea still have to play all of United, City, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal away from home. They’ll do well to win any of those games apart from Spurs, who they’ll obviously beat.

Yeah don’t think we have much of a chance of finishing top 4 with the fixtures we have remaining. Also not like our manager is a serial winner. EL football should be the aim from here.
